Manhunter was the original 1986 version of this story before Silence of the Lambs. I actually prefer Brian Cox as Lecter in that film. This version is not any better, and didn't really need to be made except for the post SOTL money grab...
Looks like this is the older transfer with minimal DNR, vs the Blu-Ray that comes with the native 4K transfer that is noted to be better.
But for the price, this is still a good PQ, and I'm considering it
The best version of the Hannibal Lecter tale is Bryan Fuller's TV show "Hannibal". Exquisite art direction, cinematography and brilliant writing. Madds Mikkelsen as Hannibal is, hands down, the best performance of the character ever delivered.
