That and the phones crater in value or resell. Just look at pixel 7's...they can be had for 1/3rd price... About 13 months post launch on eBay, offerup, craigslist

Please never buy them at retail price. No one pays $999 for a Google Pixel Pro.
Go to ebay, type in samsung galaxy s23, click sold items, click unlocked.
Not one phone sold recently under $600....so maybe put it on ebay?
An S23 was had for $0 with an iphone 12 trade in, which was $180 on ebay at the time.
So literally you could be making $420 profit if you did that.
Meanwhile, pixel 7's on ebay: $300-350 sold on ebay recently brand new.
Plenty of data shows the samsung phones sell more 1 year after launch vs. pixel. It is the same reason that the pixel 8 preorder on google store had a trade in on a pixel 7 was $400 when the S23 was $550...

If you can bump up to the 12 I'd say that's the overall winner.
The 7 years of software support does nothing for me when it comes to phones, I tend to replace my device every other year and don't see myself using the same phone that long.
