As you can see you get best quality where you can reframe to flat and zoom out to get more pixels.
I use mine alongside gopros for fishing

Never has overheated on loop mode for me out in the sun for 6 hours. Only issue is they dont write time of day to metadata so its a pain to align in premiere.

So expect to see the x3 price plummet from here forward
Probably $299 by July.
I assume there is no point to these cameras for slow-moving things like backpacking and cross country skiing.
Hiking? just put it in front of you on stick and pay no more attention to it. Watching my daughter figure skate? Start it up and then watch the skating rather than the camera. It's a game changer.
Be sure to play it back at 4320s i.e. 8k resolution. Note the reduced quality in the dim light under the trees that sharpens up in the open areas.
Good luck!
Edit: Youtube is a very convenient way to share with others. The 8k thing is because Youtube no longer supports 5.7k or basically anything except 4k or 8k. If you upload in 8k, it keeps the better resolution of 5.7k although Youtube can take hours or even a day to finish processing the 8k version. Just upload and it and be patient; it will eventually show up.

Insta owes you commission because I wasn't sold after watching the other videos, but yours looks excellent and I'm in for one now!
Thanks for the 8k tips!
