This is again StackSocial-
If you scroll to the bottom you'll see "Powered by Stack Commerce"

Many websites basically loan their legitimacy/user base to Stack Social for a cut of the profits.

It's the same sellers/products/legitimacy (ie likely grey market resold keys) as if it were coming from StackSocial.com

Why would you need this over VScode?

For C# development, it's IntelliSense, debugging, hot reload, etc..etc. VSCode is great, can get you 80% of the features you need, but I've become addicted to the productivity I gain in VS over VSCode. Non-.Net development? Javascript, Python, PowerShell (yes PowerShell!) VSCode is a no brainer.

The experience is much better for certain products. I'm working on Office Addins right now. And the experience was a nightmare with vscode + node + javascript / typescript when I tried it a few years ago. The overall process is much, much smoother in Visual Studio. That's less of a vscode issue than a node issue however. The Office Addin in Visual Studio uses C# instead of JavaScript.

The debugging tools in Visual Studio will likely also be much better. The savings in a few hours of development time can easily pay for the license depending on developer cost.

I think the more pointed question is, why would anyone that needs this already not have it? Seems like a vast majority of people that would benefit are likely in the corporate world where keys are paid for by whomever you're working for. I'll agree that VS is actually pretty awesome (10 years as a SharePoint on prem coder here). Having had to transition to IntelliJ for a Java rotation, VS is vastly superior.
