Revolutionary Processor: Faster. Smoother. Better. The powerful new GP2 engine changes the game—snappy performance, responsive touch controls and double the frame rate for amazingly smooth footage. Designed specifically for the demanding nature of the GoPro, the GP2 "system on a chip" is by far our fastest ever.
High-Res Photos + Videos, High Frame Rate: Step up to the sharpest-shooting GoPro ever. Upgraded to incredible 27MP photos and 5.3K video resolution at 60fps, HERO11 offers double the frame rate for amazingly smooth motion. Plus, there's 8x slo-mo at 2.7K and you can pause videos and grab 15.8MP still photos from 5.3K video that look amazing.
Unbelievable Image Quality: Capture jaw-dropping 5.3K video with 91% more resolution than 4K and an incredible 665% more than 1080p. HERO11 Black captures finer detail, more realistic textures and better contrast than any HERO camera before it—even in low light. A new water-shedding hydrophobic lens cover that repels water and helps eliminate lens flare and other artifacts makes your photos and videos even more stunning.
HyperSmooth 5.0: HyperSmooth has never been smoother, and it's easy to dial in the best stabilization at all times. Plus, get even better low-light performance and horizon leveling with a higher tilt limit, so your footage looks perfectly straight when you want it.
New Front Screen + Performance Enhancements: Framing your shots for vlogging and selfies is better than ever with a high-quality front LCD screen with a smoother frame rate and crisp detail. Touch controls are snappy too, so the shutter is more responsive. Live streaming with HERO11 Black looks better than ever, and webcam functions are easy and seamless.
Rugged and Waterproof to 33ft: Completely waterproof and tougher than ever, HERO11 Black is versatile enough for any adventure. Its rugged build quality can take a beating and keep going, whether you're ripping through mud, snow or water (to depths of 33ft). The durable and scratch-resistant lens cover adds even more protection, and can be easily replaced if needed.
Webcam + Live Streaming: Use your GoPro as the hottest webcam in the game. This versatile functionality carries over to live streaming, where your shots look incredibly stable as you vlog your next activity with buttery HyperSmooth stabilization and sharp resolution.
Power Tools: Nail the shot the easiest way, with Power Tools like LiveBurst to record 1.5 seconds before and after your shot. And even if you press the shutter too late, HindSight captures up to 30 seconds of footage before you start recording—to never miss a moment. There are also scheduled and duration captures modes, so you can set it and forget it.
Presets: Make things super simple—just pick a Preset for any situation. HERO11 Black comes ready-to-rock with Standard, Activity, and Cinematic modes. You can even create custom presets for quick access to your favorite settings.
Built-in Mounting: Swapping mounts takes just seconds, thanks to built-in folding fingers. No frame needed—just open, connect and go. Better yet, every awesome accessory for HERO10 Black is compatible with HERO11 Black.

I feel like I always need to chime in to try and help ease some of the frustration that will likely happen when purchasing a GoPro. I do action sport videography for a living so I'll often buy several top tier action cameras at a time. Each time I shoot with GoPro, regardless of which iteration, I can expect to lose about 15% of my footage from from freezing, overheating, corrupted SD cards (when the card will work find in another camera), or some other random problem. GoPros are notoriously unreliable in the industry.
A far better option is the DJI Osmo Action 3 or 4. I've never had a failure, the battery life is amazing (no "Enduro" battery needed), the image quality matches(3) or exceeds(4) GoPro, and the price recently dropped on the Osmo Actions making them the far superior choice.
Then there's always the question of do you really need an action camera? Phones often have great cameras now. Unless mounting in a dubious location (like in a wheel well, on a helmet, or on an FPV drone) then many phones capture just as good wide angle shots.
Long story short, I've used every iteration of GoPro since the original Hero, and aside from the Hero 2 (their last reliable camera) I'd avoid GoPro like the plague. Anyway... Hope that helps ease some of the frustration you may have.

Used neither one or any of these cameras ever.
What are the use cases for both?
I play sports over the weekend. Can I put this on my forehead using a head mount and record while playing? Or is it more as a spectator that one can record; for both the Osmo and GP?
It's more for the sports user. Forehead mount is a little weird, but yes, you would record yourself playing sports. Typical use cases are biking, skiing, and other extreme sports. My brother in law has recorded river fishing trips. They are kind of like dash cams for a human body.
The biggest reason to get one of these is for the stabilization, so the videos are smooth. otherwise, I would just use cheaper cameras (I tried it, and it was terrible). Usually, if you are wondering if you need one, you usually don't. I was watching my son grow up on his mountain bike and snowboard, and I wanted to record it since life goes by fast.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I agree that life goes fast and hence I was thinking of getting one if on a good sale. $220 is not much if it will be put to use more often to record events and sports, with hands free recording being the attraction.

FWIW I've shot many hours of footage on my GoPros over the years and have never had any of these issue. Not one freeze, not one corrupted SD card. Not saying you're lying, but problem could be elsewhere—maybe SD card brand? If your SD card is too slow to write 4k60 (or beyond) then you'll have all kinds of issues regardless of camera brand
I need to get a GoPro type camera for my 10 yr. Any thoughts on the fake GoPros? Is it good enough a 10 yr old who does some snorkeling or mounting on a helmet for skiing? Thanks.
Personally if you're looking for something cheaper don't buy the knock offs, get an older model on ebay like the Go Pro hero 8 black, I own it and it's awesome and takes amazing pictures and video. Tons of people sell their old ones to upgrade to newer go pros. But I wouldn't go any older than the 8 imo, this is where they took a big leap and feel any option between 8 and 12 is good. Also the Dji Osmo 3 or 4 used/refurbished are awesome cams too. Definitely can get them cheaper than new, with not much wear
I bought a Hero 11 on ebay for $210. The seller mass sells Costco returns. The unit was basically brand new and came with a shorty and 2 batteries. So far I like the GP11 a lot. I've been wearing it during my hockey games and the video quality is superb. The only negative has been my attempt at learning how to use Davinci Resolve (a free software) to edit the videos. Yikes this software has a steep learning curve.
** One point of advice I must stress, or warn, everyone about when you first handle a GoPro is to NOT PULL THE TINY BLACK MIC COVER OFF THE SIDE OF THE UNIT. I say this as someone who read all the warnings, and still managed to do it. If you do, just use some crazy glue to stick it back into place.
take a chance on gp11 (the seller ship it very quickly), and cancel dji. I need the camera sooner for my trip and DJI back order until March. This one seem to go with extra batter and handle so all I need is a case. Save a few bucks. Hopefully gp wont disappoint me.
Received mine yesterday and it was not inspected by seller. Usb port was literally melted, cracked, and had pins missing. Also, the inside of the lens cover was dirty. Obviously returning it.

DJI is a Chinese Communist operation which requires users to install the DJI Mimo app on their phone. Do a little bit of research on what this app does once it is on your phone, reading your text messages, granular location data, and other sensitive data and transmits it to Chinese servers behind the CCP Firewall, unencrypted.
I don't know how they get away with forcing users to install spyware that spies on American citizens, but this should absolutely be outlawed. Their product won't allow you to bypass the app activation, and that's a huge red flag.
Even many agencies within the U.S. Government has banned DJI products for this very reason. I don't know about you, but a nice camera isn't worth giving all my personal info to a government which persecutes and abuses their own people.
Received mine very quickly in SoCal. Other than the box being a little worn, the GoPro looked new, both batteries were the newer Enduro batteries and the mini tripod had never been opened. It was missing the USB-C cord, reached out to the seller and they responded on the weekend. I was afraid they might send out a generic cord but the original cord with GoPro branding was sent out with tracking. Did a LOT of checking on YouTube and although some prefer the DJI 4, I actually like the GoPro app and its features, along with the subscription which offers camera replacement. The price for the included extras was great - happy with the purchase!

Solid video to learn DaVinci in a few minutes.
