This is a solid deal love this game but I caution ⚠️ buying this from the Nintendo e-shop Nintendo is very notorious for shutting its e-shops down on its older systems better off buying physical especially knowing the switch is already on its way out and the Nintendo new gaming system is on its way also even if you do buy this and you buy the newest Nintendo system Nintendo make you buy the new Nintendo version talk about a insult

that seems to be the future of everything. If you don't have a physical copy that can be used off-line then assume the store or verification server will be shutdown in 5-10 years after you bought it.

Man I love the ffvii game. But I've must have bought this game at least 10 times on different platforms from ps1 (I. Think). Will I still buy this. lol probably bc it would be a lot better playing on a switch then my phone.

That's not only Nintendo but a lot of platforms. Read the mice type and you'll find in many cases you don't really own the product.

Which one of these would you recommend for playing on Switch Lite? Preferably more modern ones?
Thanks for any input.

The most "modern" feeling games are likely Final Fantasy X and XII. But even those are 20 years old. I recommend starting with X, it's a good intro into the series. You can play them in whatever order you want since they're almost all independent stories of one another.

7,8,9 are your more classic JRPG games. 10 and 12 are more modern from the PS2 era with more 3d realistic worlds.

7 is one of the best games of all time. I didn't really care for 8. 9 was a shake up from the rest of the series, felt more "magical" than the technological aspect of 7-8.

That being said, I want to play through 8, 9, 10, 12 on more modern console. I need to even check what systems I have physical of already though.

Good points but 9 wasn't a shake up but a return to the fantasy/magic settings of FF1-6.

If anything 7 & 8 were the shakeups since it was the first in a modern, non-medieval fantasy settings

They shut down the 3DS and WiiU store after 11 years and gave people a year's notice to download their games. How long should online stores be supported?

I love physical but honestly I don't play older consoles that much, plus there are similar issues with failing disc drives, bad batteries, and incompatible AV cords.

At least with digital games there are "alternative" ways to play them on the console this late into their life cycles.

Despite new purchases being discontinued, the Nintendo eShop still allows you to download your content for the 3DS, which was released in 2011 and the Wii U which was released in 2012.

Definitely recommend this path. This way, you won't be confused and disappointed after finding out the gambit system is found in no other Final Fantasy games!! (except in FFXII: Zodiac Age, of course)

wa ha haaa~

edit: sort of the same for FFVIII too. I really liked to Junction!

I'm probably going to get a lot of flak for saying this but I find FF7 (original) to be very slow paced, at least at the beginning. I've tried playing it many times over the years but always end up stopping early on and then move onto something else. On the last attempt, I stopped again right after Cloud dressed up as a girl to rescue Tifa. I truly want to finish this game but it's just been so challenging for me for some reason. For those that have completed FF7, when do things pick up story wise?

FF6 was just an amazing game when I first experienced it on the SNES and it holds a special place in my heart. I wish SE would give it the same remake treatment afforded to FF7. Though that hope was dashed when the creator recently mentioned that FF6 would require 20 years to complete if the same resources were to be applied. Frown(
