I have heard the VR is truly an incredible experience because it's the full cockpit and everything. You can look around you while flying and see everything. If you have VR, this is a $2 no-brainer pickup.
Plays really well on Steam Deck. On the other hand looks so much better (of course), on an ultrawide screen with all the graphics turned up, playing with a mouse and keyboard is a little hokie though.

VR is probably amazing.

It absolutely is. When you move your head around you can see all of the controls and switches in the cockpits of the various ships…it's incredible!
I've played it on an enormous projection screen (120") and on VR. Both are amazing experiences with this game.
Thanks! I'm building a LAN, I don't have VR headsets yet (only 1 quest 3), but I plan to have 4 player games down there. I bought 4 of these from the amazon link and it showed 4 reward codes to redeem; I'll create a steam account per PC and redeem them someday later when the LAN is ready to go.
Even with VR I didn't find this game too compelling, and I was a Wing Commander kid with a microsoft sidewinder back in the day. Really bad voice acting and characterization.
