Maybe it depends on the application but I find these nowhere near bright enough. I've got to where I don't buy less than the kl135 @ 1000 lumens.
1000 lumens seems like a lot but even then it doesn't seem bright enough.
I don't have a light meter, but I don't think these guys put out the light they claim to.
I think this is a better option as you can adjust the white light from warm, bright, cool….and you have color options as well.
The auto white based on the time of day is pretty cool.

I have the KL125 version of this bulb, so I can't say for sure that it's applicable here but I agree that 800 lumens is too dim for me. Seems like even at its brightest, it's only equivalent to a 40watt bulb.
That said, the Kasa bulbs have had great connectivity for me and work perfectly with Alexa and Hey Google.
WiFi is seen as an inferior option for home automation stuff however my Kasa devices have performed without issue. I have a mix of wifi, zigbee, zwave and my Kasa devices have been equally as reliable.

Agreed. Have the same issue with all these smart bulbs regardless of vendor. I buy only the 1600 lumen Hue bulbs (non tunable tho) and at least they are actually bright. All the lower ones are just too dim…even with 2 or 3 paired up.
I have several (8) of these all through the house and on the covered porch. They work pretty well. Brightness is fine at 100% or anywhere between there and 1%. All of mine are going on 1-4 years with no issues. I use mine with Alexa. I prefer Kasa bulbs over others because they also have Tapo security cameras too, along with the Kasa plugs for lamps and devices. So, between Alexa, Tapo and Kasa; I have an app that works with no complaints.
I also have the 125 model color bulb but have no use for it yet. I have another outdoor bulb model for the street light from Kasa too.
Most of my bulbs are not in a place that needs tons of lighting like those in the above comments. Most are in use in the morning or evening and full strength isn't wanted.
I've found them to be super easy to set up. If you're doing several and they're located in poor WiFi zones; use a lamp near your router to connect the bulbs with your app and then take them to your rooms where they'll be installed. Same with plugs and other devices.
I have a KL125 I've been using for several years now and it's been good. Occasionally (like maybe only a few times a year) it will turn on by itself in the middle of the night for some reason. Either hacked or maybe a firmware update? Idk lol sometimes the app widgets gets stuck and I have to go into the actual app to turn it on/off to "refresh" it.
Also when other people enter the room and they don't know the light is a smart bulb they will turn the light switch off and on to turn it on and when they leave they turn it off. When I get back I have to turn the switch back on 🤷🏻 ♂️

It probably is. It's annoying when the power goes out and back on during stormy seasons. Overnight you might wake up to all your lights on if you go to bed before power comes back on.
I find it super helpful to have lights come on with a routine. Saves me steps to and from switches. I can either voice command it if they're off too. Really helpful to have all the basement lights come on with a voice command than to walk in the dark flipping switches while trying not to stub your toe on something.
I've yet to set up proximity things yet and probably won't. It's also nice to have the thermostat adjusted when I'm away. I'm not particularly fond of the manual settings on the thermostat though when WiFi is down though. Nest has a clunky, unresponsive control skeme when trying to do it manually.

I put Scotch tape over switches. Keeps the everyday users mindful until they're trained. Visitors will just ask or you can take them off for the duration of their visits.
I find the messing with switches annoying. It's bad enough if voice commands have to be repeated. I don't also want to find out they're sabotaged too. 😒
I'm thinking updates or auto resets and such. Unless you have lots of teens or annoying adolescent kids that live around you messing with stuff, most are too busy to care about what they find on their WiFi signal list.

Interestingly mine have also begun to turn themselves on in the middle of the night about once per month. They never did this before last October, so not sure not sure if it's a firmware bug released around then or something else.

The few smart bulbs that I have go into old school table lamps.
And I agree, they are on the dim side.
That said, 90% of my IoT lights are TP-LINK Kasa, and they all work well.
