i disagree with the above posters who think this isn't a good sign up bonus. this comes with a companion pass for a little over 12 months. so it all depends on how you'll use this.
Thirty thousand points for spending $4k is terrible. I got 75k points just two months ago. Anything less than 50k is not worth it and even that is on the low side. Wait if you can.
Edit: The companion pass is worth it if you plan to travel at least twice with a companion. The extra 45k points I got are worth ~$550.
Wish it was two years. This would be less than one year.

The companion pass gets added after your first statement (if you meet the $4K spend during that period). Depending on how time sensitive your booking is you can do what I did last year. I bought my tickets before getting the pass to guarantee the seats, then I canceled and rebooked the flights using the companion pass one it was added to my account. You'll get one of the tickets refunded as a SW credit, so as long as you know you will use it at some point it's an option.
thats not a bad idea actually. i need to buy 9 total tickets for a june flights. but i cant book them until i get the card in the mail.. i have it on my phone but i dont know the actual card number lol.

by chance did you do any international flights? we are flying to mexico which is why i want the companion.. that alone would save 600+ granted i'll have to pay taxes. but i think it would be worth it. only reason why i signed up hah.

Not this time, but I have flown to Mexico with Southwest a few times before. We used it to go to Hawaii, DC and Santa Barbara.
Is there a reason not to get the Priority card? It seems that the higher annual fee ($149) is offset by the $75 annual travel credit. If you're going to use the companion pass, you're buying tickets anyway, so surely would use the travel credit That brings the annual fee down to $74 and the extra benefits seem to be worth the $5.

No need to cancel and rebook. Buy the ticket for yourself before getting the companion pass. When the companion pass is added in the account, add the companion to your existing flight

There were only 3 seats left when I booked so I didn't want to risk the flight selling out. By buying two tickets I can guarantee that the seat is still there when the companion pass arrives.

One way to find out the seat availability or if the flight is near full — is to call the airlines directly to ask. When it shows 3 seats left, that's referring to that price point. When those 3 seats are gone, the price goes up to the next tier.
You're able to add a companion even at the last minute when fares are showing quadruple the price of the first ticket.
How soon do you get the companion pass to use once spent is met? Considering it's only good for 12 months, may not be worth it?
Did this last year. Got CP by 1st bill in March. 7 Round Trip flights so far and 1 more round trip schedule before current one expires end of the Month.
1 Trip was to Cancun. Purchase $650 1 RT and CP was for $160 (These are Taxes that you pay for CP ticket).

I agree with you. The $75 travel credit plus the 4 upgraded boarding credits make the Priority card the best deal.
My wife got this the 30k bonus and companion pass on 4/27/2022. So we are a couple months short of the 24 months right now. Is there a possible workaround to delay the 2024 bonus until after 4/27/2024?
So I apply for the card now, But wait until after 4/27/24 to spend the $4k. By that time, it will be more than 24 months. Has anyone tried this?

Used it for Hi last summer when they had the 40% points & fare discount used the 30k points that came with sign up bonus and went to 3 islands hopping rt on companion pass great deal. Think deal was slightly better last yr with lower spend required. Best deal is Hi, Mexico you can get to from Frontier or Spirit and costs less then SW
