i disagree with the above posters who think this isn't a good sign up bonus. this comes with a companion pass for a little over 12 months. so it all depends on how you'll use this.
Thirty thousand points for spending $4k is terrible. I got 75k points just two months ago. Anything less than 50k is not worth it and even that is on the low side. Wait if you can.
Edit: The companion pass is worth it if you plan to travel at least twice with a companion. The extra 45k points I got are worth ~$550.
Wish it was two years. This would be less than one year.

Does anyone know if I'd still be eligible for the Southwest sign-up bonus if I got the Chase Sapphire Reserve bonus in June 2023? I'm thinking it would be fine since they are different card families.

Should be fine. Different family, though it would still fall under the general 5/24 Chase Bank card rule.
Dang too bad I got in on the last companion pass deal. My pass expired in December then got the other companion pass deal that expires in April this year so I wouldn't qualify for this deal even if I choose another type of card than the one I currently have which is the rapid rewards?
You can get the companion pass by earning 120K+ every year or with a promo. If you get the promo youll have the pass for 1 year but youll have to wait another year after that to get a promo again.
You are talking about getting CP by miles. That, you get the remaining of the year, and the entire next year. If you time it well, you can get almost 2y. It's a lot harder to achieve than the current offer ($4k spending on a card for 1y CP).
It's harder… but very doable. Just gotta get the biz and personal card, hit the SUB, and boom, companion. If you're playing two player mode, then you can switch off every two years and have infinite companion pass.
I have SW rapid rewards business card that i opened recently. And I am about to get 80,000 points for that. Do you recommend waiting for better bonus offer so that I can apply for personal card and get 2 years companion pass?
As per my understanding, spending 4000 in 3 months and wait for companion pass for 8 weeks to kick in. So total 5 months got wasted out of 12 months if i got a card now. Am i missing anything here???

You spend 4000 in the first month, as soon as your statement closes, you should be qualified and your companion pass will come much quicker

There are no sign up bonuses for credit cards that require you to hold a balance. It only needs 4k total spend. Pay off your card in full.
