I have been thinking about this but decided to buy an Azdome M550 Pro instead. The order has not arrived yet, will see if I made the right decision.

The Sony Starvis 2 in the Viofo is way superior to whatever the Azdome has.

I agree with DAN9090, the Starvis 2 is much better. Btw OP, this deal is on Amazon also. Smilie

Looking into getting a new dashcam. Anyone have any experience with this model and can chime in on video quality?

Also, does the rear camera have to get connected all the way to the front of the vehicle together with the other camera if you're going to use the HK4 hardwire kit? Using parking mode always makes me nervous due to battery draining, can that hardwire kit really stop the battery from draining?

Sharing my personal experience with A119 mini. The dashcam, while it worked was great. The nemesis was the adhesive that holds the unit. It would just not stay put and fell down every 2nd day. I tried everything including suggestions from ytube videos, redt different 3M adhesive strips etc. Also contacted Amazon and the seller. My car mostly stayed in shade in East Coast winter. Still the adhesive would not just hold and every other day I would either find the camera on the floor in the morning or it would fell down the moment a door is closed. I gave up and returned it just two days before the return window was closing.

This primary unit is expected to be heavier and I strongly feel that it would have the same issue.

This or the Vantrue S1 Pro Dual system for $160 after coupon on Amazon? That one also has the STARVIS 2 night vision.

I have this model installed for about a year already.

Quality is pretty good. I can see plates easily during the day. The night shots are meh, but that's expected of almost all cameras.

The rear camera does need to be connected to the front to get power and also the rear feed. You get a pretty long thing cable so this isn't an issue.

The hk4 hardwire kit is to keep you from using a USB port and to have power when you lock the car. It doesn't independently power the rear camera.

I have at least 10 different dashcams within the last 7 years on various vehicles and in hot SoCal as well.

The best adhesive is 3M VHB tape. Very difficult to remove as well.

The newer Viofo uses VHB but also includes static cling sheet. Don't use the static cling sheet unless you put it on tinted glass.

No problem whatsoever.

Good deal and TU'd. I'm waiting on the 4k version. Doing alright with the A129 for now, so I'm probably going to snag the A229 Pro during this year's BF.
