There's better options and it's not that great of a pack.
I have this in another color. I paid $7. It's okay for $7 as a cheap disposable pack but at almost twice the price, it's not a great deal.
The quality is fine, but the thickness of the materials and total build value isn't that great. It's a cheap backpack, but $12 isn't really cheap enough. It probably costs Lenovo $3 to make these.
I have been using this same bag for almost 2 years now. No complaints except, it says LENOVO on it. Definitely a target bag for a thief if left alone. I have had no problems. Soft padding on shoulder straps and deep pocket for laptop.
At this price I'm not sure how it gets a thumbs down.

It's very minimal, i would say don't go dropping your bag waist high, or even sliding you laptop in.
I have a crumpler backpack that cost me 150, that has great protection. You have to spend more for more material.
Lenovo do make ones with more padding, but they are heavier and cost at least double.
Thanks. Knocks are never intentional; sometimes circumstance won't accommodate full caution and care (like being rushed through airport security checks). I thought about cutting down a neoprene sleeve and putting that in the laptop section bottom (cut to minimize added weight). Maybe use velcro fastener strip to hold it in place. Then I'll just need to make certain I slip the leading laptop side into that sleeve within the backpack.
I have the same bag, I got it in March 2019 for $11. I use it almost daily, I abuse it, I put too much in the bag all the time... it's been holding up now in it's 5th year. I like that it's small, light weight. I don't think it's the most ergonomic, but it was $11. Past few days, the zipper is finally coming off track, I won't buy another one because I am looking for something that can distribute the 20lb I put in it more evenly.
I've been using this backpack for about 5 years. It's been great, has held up perfectly fine and has gotten a fair amount of usage. Definitely doesn't have a lot of support so wouldn't recommend this for traveling, as it's also quite thin.
Great commuting backpack if you're only looking to store your work laptop and few things else. Two small pockets inside the larger main compartment and one small pocket inside the smaller main compartment.
Who knows but anything claiming to be "TSA approved" is just marketing as the TSA does not approve anything. Everything is up to their discretion when at security. TSA approved items are (in theory) based on TSA's guidelines. And all those backpacks with TSA approved quick open compartments are just wrong as the TSA...ALWAYS* makes you remove your laptop entirely from the bag, not just open the flap. They won't take your backpack though. tSa aPpRoVeD multitools are a different matter entirely...ask me how I know
*standard security lines, not talking about Precheck, CLEAR, etc

Can I use for carry on luggage?
You can use a grocery bag for your luggage. I've seen worse. The airline tends to be your bottleneck there, not the TSA.
But yes, you should have zero issue if you were planning to use this as a carry on bag as this is small enough to be considered a carry on and most likely would not even be counted as that but a "personal item" (by the airline).
