Pretty good deal for PLA Plus, being that Elegoo has a pretty good reputation so their Plus is probably a better quality. Personally, I think a good deal on PLA is $10 and a good deal on PLA Plus is $12. This hits in at $11/spool so I'd consider it a good deal. Though, black is usually less expensive then any other color.

IMHO, Ellego's customer service is also very good. They stand behind their filament.

So I had 4 rolls of this stuff, Elegoos PLA Pro is very good for for functional objects however it is extremely painful to print anything that you will need supports for as whatever makes this stuff "Pro" also likes to make it fuse to itself very very very well. If you are printing anything that needs supports go with their PLA + or their RapidPLA it is my go to for cheap PLA.

I LOVE this stuff! Just started using it on my Neptune 4 Pro. Easily prints 200+ speeds and flow of 20mm/s. I've not had the problem with supports as a previous user said. Easily the best I've used. I really like 3dFuel Pro too but that stuff is 2-3x the cost.

I think they're referring to a seperate support filament. The support filament interface always exists so your print does not look awful. If you want a better finish, you use a seperate support material on the interface layer. This is method is only really practical on printers with multi material support.

Thanks for replying. Based on the tutorial one would still use the same filament. What Cura, and I am guessing other slicers, allow you to do is customize the distance to (on Z axis), density and thickness of the interface between the model and supports. Distance and density allow one to control the adhesion to supports while maintaining print quality. In simplest terms, the larger Z offset, the less adhesion, but if offset it is too high (or the interface density is too low) the model won't be supported enough. Another perk of using the interface is that you can save filament and speed up the print by making the interface as dense as needed, while reducing the density of the supports themselves. Not sure if I am explaining this well enough, but I found this tutorial (with print examples) really helpful.

Darn it. Need some more filament, but not a fan of carboard spools. Moisture is filaments enemy, so switching to a moisture absorbing material is so confusing to me.

If the cardboard has moisture issues, your filament definitely does... Works fine in a dryer box.

Think of it this way, though, would you rather the filament absorb moisture, or the cardboard absorb moisture?

Many people put in those moisture absorbing silica with the rolls during storage and in dry boxes and in AMS boxes, so they absorb the moisture and help keep the filament dry.

And an adapter to make it work better on the AMS is easy to print too.
