Its an alienware you will regret. Yes the parts seem good but you will regret. Watch any review on alienware, they are a nightmare
I've had two over the past decade. Both are still going. Previous models of this same line. No issues.

YMMV but people love to complain.

Good price and reliable from my experience.

Edit: If anything, Dell improved Alienware; making it more affordable. And Dell is a company that has almost always used solid parts. Especially compared to other pre-built "gaming" companies.

I think with dell 10% off and Amex 120 CB and chase 5% cash back and using. Cash back site… the price goes down to 1180 or less… this is awesome deal.
how do you get that config on dell's website?

Yup every review I have watched on YT trashes these prebuilt alienware systems.

I know nothing about gaming PCs but those reviews convinced me to not purchase as I was going to pull the trigger on this.

They have a accident protection service for $16.99. It's great if you can't be bothered to diagnose which part is damaged and fix it yourself. It's pain to do that unless you have lots of free time and multiple PC parts to test against. PC doesn't boot, is it power supply or motherboard issue? PC starts but with certain beeps, is it memory, graphics card, missing OS, motherboard, etc? With their protection service, just create a ticket and they send a service man to diagnose and replace the parts. I had my Alienware laptop's entire board replaced with their warranty. I used to fix PCs until 15 years ago, but I can't be bothered anymore. Dell is good for my case.

Do not buy this machine. Overheating problems within 1-2 years.
It's a death trap with no circulation.

Yes all the computers I buy for my office are Dell refurbished and they have performed magnificently for what we need. I also just bought a Dell Server and they basically just logon using screen share and fix whatever while I am on the phone with em. This gaming PC will be for my home office which usually gets really hot in there during summer so I don't think it's wise to get Alienware as the reviews kept emphasizing overheating related issues.

I bought an R9 about 4 years ago, and I regret it. The GPU (2080 Super) gets HOT - it would get up to 100° C before throttling when playing Witcher 3. And what others have said about it being full of plastic is true - just about all of the empty space is taken up with plastic housing. Despite being a fairly large case, there is minimal room inside. I would avoid unless you absolutely need something like this right now.

Everything is proprietary and low quality.
I do want to develop this item further. Specifically, this system incorporates relatively custom components in the form of an OEM motherboard and power supply.

This power supply is a 12 Volt Only style model. That style distinction is significant since although OEMs have started implementing their own versions of ATX 12VO for cost-savings as well as to meet certain efficiency requirements, what is being sold in OEM systems isn't really standardized in the retail space. So if the power supply needs replacement (outside of warranty) or upgrading, this challenge alone will create some issues well beyond a simple drive to Micro Center.

On top of that, the motherboard also integrates the front panel connections such as the USB sockets directly onto the motherboard. Though typical for many OEM systems such as those from HP, this also complicates replacement of the motherboard and/or case.

Some slickdeals for desktop PCs with these features often offset the limitations with a bargain price. However, high-pirced variants of this kind of highly custom OEM system are best ignored in favor of a PC which utilizes standardized motherboards and power supplies (which major OEMs do still offer!).

Good luck!
Jon

My 7800x3d is cheaper and better in gaming than this. 16GB in 2024 is ghetto!
