How long do you need to stay out of Mint network to consider as a new port-in ?
I would give it at least 24 hours. When I ported out of Mint, my account was gone almost immediately. Porting back to Mint from Tello was easy because Tello includes the needed porting info on your profile without having to go through a CSR. You can activate the Mint SIM through their app.

The activation wizard will ask for your phone number and award you the bonus 6 months if it is not currently on Mint's network. Otherwise it will assign you a new number and you will only get 6 months.

Exactly, and if you are already on Mint and your SIM plan is running out I recommend porting out to Tello ($5) and then back to Mint to get the 6 month bonus. I did the same for the P7P deal and it was a quick and easy process.
Thanks, I did it with TracFone and it was a nightmare not worth the week of chatting w horrible customer service for both mint and TracFone.

Doesn't this come out to $50 or so extra, after fees? That's how my last similar mint deal ended up.

I mean, that's pretty clear from the terms of the promo. Did you misunderstand or were you simply not paying attention?

They unlocked mine after the service was activated, in any case.
what do you mean by they unlocked after service was activated? Did you mean you didn't have to wait 12 months?

Since it's prepaid, I don't understand why it isn't unlocked right after you begin service. They already have their money. Seems strange to me.

Did this with an awesome Pixel 4a deal a few years back. They just shipped an unlocked phone and a prepaid sim to pop in. Sold the sim and kept the phone. Are all Pixels not unlocked like they used to be?

It was $189 but yeah. $99 for phone + $90 for required plan purchase.

That was a deal. In fact, before upgrading to Go5G+ plan, I bought this 7Pro deal to use on mint even though I have 7 free lines on TMO, because that phone plus service was cheaper than any phone alone I was looking at. Next day my kiddo broke their iPhone and I upgraded plans (and got the 8 Pro as well). Had no problem recouping my money+ on FB. Guy was even a SD'er lol
