Justice for Prime! I can never watch this without crying uncontrollably like a newborn.
Also shame on Hasbro for killing our favorite characters so they could release a whole new line of toys! Greedy mofo's ruined my childhood!
Is it really that serious prime was my favorite character but even at 7 I realized that everyone deserves dies sometimes.Plus he isn't even dead anymore
I was 7 when this film came out and I didn't cry.Plus in canon he no longer dead he came back to life. You guys need to get over this and grow up.
yeah in real life nobody comes back and they only did that because they got so much flak for killing Prime and their ratings tanked. Heck about a year later the show got cancelled because without Prime it was like watching the office without michael scott!
I can clearly remember sitting in the theater with my friend and the moment Spike said "oh shit!", my friend and I just turned and looked at each other, both wide-eyed. I can imagine all the parents sitting in the same theater with their kids must have all grimaced at that very moment. Haha
Is this showing up as 4K for anyone? The 35th anniversary edition was released in 4K on Blu-Ray, not the 30th. When I click through the Slickdeals link above, it just takes me to the version I already own (ie, not 4K).

Searching iTunes, it looks like it treats both editions as the same film, but it wants me to pay to get the 4K 35th anniversary edition, which is unusual for iTunes.
Just curious if there is anything special about the "30th anniversary edition" that would have been released in 2016? I think I saw a 35th anniversary edition at some point but I don't know if it is just rebranded every 5 years lol
I made the mistake of watching this as a special release in the theaters a few years back. When I was 8 I loved the music but now I'm a grumpy old man and while watching it was like "damn turn it down". It just didn't have the same vibe to me.
Not sure why you got so many thumbs down. At 47, I tried watching a few G1 episodes this week. Boy, they did not age well. Point blank misses with their laser guns - worse than storm troopers. The plots are so thin and animation so bad.
The iTunes Dolby Vision edition looks much better than the 4K digital copy on Amazon Prime in case anyone is wondering if they should purchase this iTunes version. I bought the Amazon Prime 4K 11/22 when they had it on sale for $6 and used digital credits. The Amazon version is in HDR, but the colors are way darker and there are many scenes where you wonder how this passed the editing room. A perfect example is when Unicron meets a beaten up Megatron and sends off the red aura sound to torture him. The scene just looks like ketchup splashed all over the TV screen.
I also have the steelbook and unfortunately, it doesn't come with any digital copy. So yes, I have the crappy Amazon Prime 4K digital copy and now the iTunes 4K copy.

I doubt even 4k could do much for the visual fidelity of this movie. Good movie, but resolution can't do much for this type of media.
That said, the Netflix TF anime is excellent.
