Ziggylata has a great video (it's long but segmented) that goes over techniques for how to play well.

Run through the tutorial, and play for a bit then check it out.

Order of play for it, theres a mode that has 5-10 players plus bots that is good to start, then when that gets eas move to either 40 player mixed mode or 3 vs 3 matches (3vs3 and 1vs1 is great for breaking down different styles and seeing how you stack up)

Also note 3rd person view is vastly superior to playing in first person unless you are cornered into a bad camera angle

It's not a game I would play everyday but it has its satisfying moments occasionally being the hack and slash it as meant to be. Definitely a game I go back to play once in awhile.

so many great originals from that era. Pirates vs Vikings was another good mod similar to chivalry
