Like authentication codes? For some reason no. Because voip #s no longer accepted anywhere because scammers ruined it. But for additional fees like $2 or $5/month i don't remember exact amount, you can get codes.
yeah authentication codes.
was wondering if you would be able to receive bank verification codes if you have TN physical sim + locked in number

ordered sim card yesterday, received email today. So did they aleady assign a number and how do I choose one?

Your new SIM card is on its way!
You can expect it to arrive in 5-7 business days.
While you wait, use your TextNow number to call and text on WiFi, and get familiar with the TextNow app.

I bought the sim card before, and it became deactivated and a total waste after not using it for a while. It's frustrating

TextNow enables you to make phone calls and send messages WITHOUT WIFI, through T-mobile network. You can't use Google service when you are on the highway.
I haven't used the feature but I understand you can configure your regular phone to call out using your google number.

For the monthly text, I schedule an automated text through the Apple shortcuts app.
How does that work? I can't figure it out. I don't see textnow option in the shortcut app.

I understand that you've lost the number, the sim is also not working anymore?

Because you didn't use the app to call or text in over 30 days or for no reason at all? If the latter, this shady business is class action material.

I just tried to order a sim card using a PC but there's no option to create an account so i had to use my phone to download the app and create an account. My phone is on mobile data so it has a different IP address. I was able to enter my credit card and shipping info but to continue i had to create an account in app, which i did. I also used a different email address from those i entered on the order page. I don't know if it's the different device and IP number or different email address that triggered TN fraud alert. Wasted time with CS in chat and email. CS won't disclose what caused them to disable my account. I tried to order again using different name and payment method but couldn't do it. I downloaded an app on a different phone and used the same login. Any # i dial i get "out of service". I thanked TN via email and i'll never use them again. I don't get lag and 30 seconds wait time until a get a dial tone with any other free VOIP services. At this point Google should adapt the same business model. I'd gladly give $1 to google instead of TN scammers. I only switched to TN because one of my phones no longer allows me to make outgoing Googvoice calls unless i link my mobile number. Other phones with and without sim cards are ok. I didn't want to mess around with resetting and reinstalling everything because old phone but now i'm going to. Already have more free VOIP numbers than i can handle. Waiting for TN to disable my old still functional existing acct any minute now because same IP address that i used to sign up for new acct and buy the card. I paid $5 for the sim card over a month ago. If they disable my existing acct i'll sue them for more than $5. TN is a scam.

In the past when i didn't use my acct for more than 30 days i lost my # and was able to select a new one and continue. If i can't do the same with the $5 SIM, if i still use this garbage service, i'll contact CS and ask to give me a new # if i can't select it in the app. If they refuse i'll return the card for a refund and will be done with the scammers.

That's why use Paypal checkout or Virtual Card with $1 limit
When I used PayPal Checkout there was a note at the top that TextNow was being added to my autopay/subscription payments for "easier checkout next time" which would allow them to charge PayPal as they like...you can remove its privileges however, but that's a PITA

No.
You can't use Talkatone to make calls on highway(without WIFI), because Talkatone doesn't give you SIM card but TextNow does.
You may use Talkatone over the data service by Verizon/ATT/T-mobile when you are on highway, but that's a different story, because you pay Verizon/ATT/T-mobile. You don't have to pay TextNow monthly.
Right on, thanks man.
