I didn't say I bought 3 of these.

I was referring to buying 3 smartphones and not being able to buy more online.

Sheesh. What is your problem????

Got the 2022 deal and can confirm the actual waiting time for automatically unlocking is ONE YEAR without the original SIM card in the phone. Don't want to get another Motorola but wish to see a different phone to be a deal.
Wrong. I had the 2022 version and 2023 version, and they all unlocked in around 180 days. The 2023 version I bought in Aug 2023 just unlocked two days ago.

Did you use the sim in another phone?
Forgot it but might be. Anyway I did not renew the plan after one month but just used the phone (without the SIM card) browsing the internet. The phone was automatically unlocked after one year (I frequently checked the unlock status in the phone setting)

How much faster is the SD 6 Gen 1 over the sd695 found on the 2022 model?
I have both. The 2023 version with snapdragon 6 gen 1 is about 15-20% faster than the 2022 version with snapdragon 695.

I couldn't find this in any of the metro threads so asking here - are you allowed to port your number out before the end of first month service?

I am assuming yes as you are pretty much not paying for second month and the line gets cancelled either way...

Apologies for my rookie questions. Not familiar with cellphone deals.

1. I cannot find the "$40/mo. requirement" to get the phone free. Can someone kindly post the link for the requirement?

2. At the metro website I see many other phones also free including iphone 11 and some samsung phones. Is gettting an iphone11 instead of the motorola phone a bad idea? Not a fan of motorola. Is iphone 11 too old to use in the next 3-4 years?

Thanks for your kind help.

I have oneplus n10. Does it worth the trouble of upgrading to this phone? Both phones have similar specs.

Anyone have this and the Nord N30? Which phone would you say is better between the two?
I have had both. I personally would give a slight nod to N30 if they were the same price although Nanoreview disagrees https://nanoreview.net/en/phone-c...us-5g-2023.. Right now N30 is is $90 total vs. $40 for Moto G Stylus 2023.

-Faster charging for N30
-Slightly bigger screen for N30
-(imho) much better camera for everyday use for N30
-Esim, Better video recording, higher performance benchmark for gaming and intensive tasks and (probably) more 5G bands for Moto G Stylus 2023.

I personally value the pro's for N30 more than the cons so if they were the same price or within $20 of each other, I would go with N30. But since N30 is $50 more expensive now, most definitely go with Moto G Stylus 2023.

I suppose that also means you need to keep it active for the 6 months at $40/mo to eventually unlock it?
Quote from NoDa :
Read the next bullet. No.
The next bullet says:

Just don't turn on auto pay, and service will disconnect after 30 days and you will not be billed for future months on pre-paid.
That makes no mention of the unlock qualifications or status, just whether you get billed automatically or not.

The reason I ask is I purchased a Tracfone with Verizon SIM one time, activated it and ran it for a month before switching to one of their AT&T SIM cards. A year later I tried to unlock it and they wouldn't because it hadn't be running the Verizon SIM for six months.

I wanted the Samsung A15. (I currently use one as the GPS for my car.) Got flagged as fraud on my Amex card. Switched to another card. Metro pulled a LexisNexis, but the questions of course were easy. (the car I owned, an old address, old workplace). Got the A15

The second credit card did not stop transaction, but did send a note of it via an email.

I was pleased my identity monitoring caught it also:

Anyway, if you are having trouble during checkout, check credit card. If you have what they call a 'thin file', you might have trouble with idenity verification. I use a VOIP number on all my online accounts, so that is what might have trigged it for me.

My old phone is used on wifi only for my Littles to play games on. This would be good for that? Old phones is my s9 that's on its last leg. Battery starting to not hold a charge, back is cracked and powe button fell out. Kids are hard on things....

-It doesn't let you check out online with a plan cheaper than $40/month. Not sure about in-store but there's more than likely activation fee and other misc. fees such as sim, insurance involved so not a good idea.
-Depends on your usage, iPhone 11 is a fine device to use. Keep in mind no 5G though. The free promotion is only available instore, so same as above, there's extra fees involved. You likely will have to pay close to $70-$90 for it in total.. As a reference point, I have seen people posting that they paid $200+ excluding tax for the $99 iPhone 12 deal a couple of months ago.
