I probably burnt out my tastebuds, but I find Aldi brand (cannot recall their brand name) to be as good as Stove Top at less than half the sale price. 69ยข in my Aldi. I always buy 4 or 5, they never go bad.

I generally like Aldi products, but when I tried their stuffing, it did not taste ANYTHING like Stove Top. I wish it did, as you said, it sure is inexpensive.
I learned this trick years ago. Whenever I get a hankering for stuffed clams (stuffies as we called them growing up in MA), I just empty a can or three of Snows Chopped Clams into this Herb mixture and maybe add some chorizo. Cook according to the package directions and then just bake for 15 minutes at 350. I always have clean quohog shells on hand but you could scoop the mix into cupcake tins. Delicious, authentic flavor and texture without the hassle from scratch.
