Literally any rock or metal head will go well with it. Easy answer is the Peavy 6505.

Picked up the 212 last time the deal came around. It came with some cosmetic damage, but after going back and forth w/ customer support, they knocked off another 50. Ended up getting it for $215. It's heavy and not packaged the best imo, but I'd purchase it again for 245 again in a heartbeat.

Finally something closer to the $140 lowest price. Pulled the trigger to get the 8 Ohms speaker. the 2x12 came with the 16 Ohms ones.

Check out the Orange Micro Dark. Tiny 20W hybrid amp with an effects loop. It sounds amazing through 10 and 12in speaker cabinets.

Joyo lunchbox amps are also worth a look. Decent sound with lots of features for a very good price - they go on sale periodically for $150. I have the Meteor II and really enjoy it, but then again I'm just jamming in my guest bedroom.

I have never used a cabinet before so forgive me if my question is silly. So the difference between using a 5w and 20w amp head is just the matter of how much max volume I can get from the cabinet, right? I'm asking before I'm thinking about getting a small 5w amp head just to get a taste of it. Will the 5w amp head also work with monoprice 2x12 cabinet?
