Does it being open box mean it doesn't get the 5 year warranty?

Typically, if they are a licensed reseller you are covered by the original factory warranty- Non-licensed reseller you are not

If you're not buying Samsung, these are the next best thing. The only reason I prefer Samsung's 2.5s is they look better and their cloning software is absurdly better than Acronis.

Open box items usually are considered as new for warranty purposes. You can double check with the seller.

HP in the list? Crucial dead last? This is an obvious troll post.

Listing Sandisk next after the show they had with Sandisk Extreme portable ssds wiping data and how they reacted to it is pretty laughable.

I agree, also I recall a year or so ago people complaining about crucial downgrading parts on their sd lines (dram, controllers etc) after initially releasing drives with better components, so they initially release with premium parts, wait for positive reviews to come in and then downgrade.

Also on some lines (p2?), they may have swapped down from TLC to QLC.

I have an internal sandisk, it stopped working. dont even know why, usage wasn't even high, I think maybe windows ran on it for 3-6 months. it just doesn't register on anything, not even expensive recovery software that detects lost partitions in raid configs. One day it just said it no longer wanted to be a disk and that was it.

I still keep it, use it every day, as a coaster. And a reminder, where sandisk belongs.
