I think it's their product line for corporate users, think about Thinkpad (well, just from HP). Should be solid. Definitely better than Envy, Inspiron, or Pavilion

Better to actually read before posting.
They're not even the same models.

Wasn't a shipping problem, it was a buying problem as only have Canadian credit cards and Microcenter isn"t set up to accept them but I am going to try a couple of workarounds and may end up returning the chromebook but so far very pleased with it.
why not buy directly in Canada from Memory Express and Canada Computers, sale is still on $500+tax , total $565CAD

I know but it was unavailable and came back into stock after I left Canada. Will be back early April and will certainly look at picking it up if still available but we've had the Samsung Chromebook for a couple of days and my partner is really pleased with how easily everything integrates with our Samsung phones.

Can these be powered/charged by the USB-C port?
The Elitebook will charge through the USB-C. Although it does charge that way, the laptop sometimes gives a notice to connect to the HP charger that is provided.

How powerful of a PD charger you using? The 32un880b Im using is rated at 60W for the usb C PD output. That should be enough to power the laptop under heavy load and charge the battery.

I was using a 45 watt power adapter from an old Google Pixel Slate tablet. The provided Elitebook power adapter with the barrel connector supplies 65 watts.

Why not just buy a Visa giftcard? Available in a lot of stores - Walmart, Target, Staples, etc

Thanks, that was one of my workarounds.

Looks like they increased the price by $50 for brand new (now) vs refurbished earlier. Also shows full 1 year warranty though people have been able to extend the refurbished one to 3 years, so no gain there. Worth spending the extra $50 for brand new and not worry about battery cycle test, getting used one etc.?

^^Those in this deal were never refurbished. Just new old stock that was never delivered to the intended customer.

May not be the best idea is chassis is aluminum and helps dissipate heat.

Yes but worried about scratching it and want to keep it scratch free. I use case for my personal Mac air and work 16" , they have vents on the bottom panel of the case. I will post if I find one for this.

So this is not a good buy at $350?

How are you drawing that from the statement you quoted?

I bought it for 350 last week. It's a great laptop. It came with Windows 10 Pro, and free upgrade to 11 Pro,
As mentioned before, it's a business class laptop with an aluminum case, backlit keyboard feels good, and I find it very quiet.
Maybe upgrade to a larger SSD in the future

thanks OP
