Damn, that's a good deal. Is this the new 2024 model?

I had this laptop before, and ended up returning it due to its white keyboard which is hard to see in light environment.

I heard these still run hot and loud even with the 4050, that's it's no cooler than a 4060. Anyone experienced this?

After watching many reviews on YouTube claim the 4050 model still gets hotter than you'd expect under load, I still bought one since I figured the older games I played wouldn't be a big deal. Sadly, I returned mine cause I didn't feel the CPU and GPU hovering around 90 degrees with a hot keyboard was acceptable while playing Unreal Tournament 3...a game from 2007.

Of course, this is just my experience with it.

If you just turn the backlight off when it's not dark, it's much more legible.

I feel it's from bloat, bad drivers, etc. I have the 4060 model...CPU UV, GPU OC via MSI, ghelper to replace armory junk, W11 + Asus bloat removed, and CPU boost disabled. 79c limit for CPU/GPU because I feel heat is bad for thin laptops over time.

We have 2 of last year's model G14's (Nvidia and Radeon models). They've both had major hardware issues within 5 months of purchase. I cannot recommend against them enough.
Best Buys service, even with Total Tech Plus or whatever it is now, is worthless for fixing them as well.
Overall, I'd avoid this deal unless you need a temporary laptop that'll be e-waste in less than a year.

Never had any issue with my 2022 G14. It's been rock solid.

I wouldn't get this model though. Go for at least the 4060 which if nothing else has more VRAM.

Even at that price? Even though it has expired, I'm still curious

Best Buy fixed our Zenbook OLED in a week or so, under warranty, but it was completely dead.

After a month and a half of back and forth, they refunded us on the one with power supply issues. We have an RMA going for the one that had display issues. I handed down my G15 with a 3080 to the family member that got the refund and picked up an Alienware M16 with a 4080 for myself. When these ROG's finish dying, they'll be the last ones in our house. Just not worth the risk on a 1k purchase.

can you share your UV and OC settings? I'm new to it and some guidelines will help!
