Feels like smart watches in general just aren't worth it yet... The sleep tracking stuff seems to be a gimmick too. Most smart watches supposedly can't open/respond to messages from Whatsapp and similar

I use mine (Galaxy Watch 5) to pay for everything, open/lock my house and car, listen to Spotify, and check emails and take calls without taking my phone

It's a data-only connection. I don't think it can be used to make/take calls away from the phone. My pixel watch 2 has LTE but I don't have a plan. It basically becomes a fitbit once you're 100M away from the phone.

This is the main reason I returned mine originally. It just looked too dainty on my wrist. Love the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic for this reason.

I bought my first, a galaxy watch four, for Christmas when it was like $90. It's not the most useful thing, but I love it for:
* Setting timers easily, with an unobtrusive alarm
* Ringing my phone when I can't find it in my house, which happens more often than I should admit
* Having a tiny flashlight
* Showing the temp and weather for the next three hours at a glance
* Fitness and sleep tracking and heart rate
* Mine is rigged so I can tell what notifications are personal and which are for work during the workday

The worst thing about this watch is the battery life. It says a day but doesn't go past 12hrs of normal wear. I know, I had one.

Prices on garmin's mid-tier watches (like the 265) have gotten pretty absurd as of late.

Still, without real power meter support within activities, I just can't take the plunge on something like this.

They've been worth it since pebble released. Between timers, alarms, notifications, texting and calls, and so on, they just help with everyday tasks. I don't even use any of the health based features.
