These are really slow decks, even for a starter set. We tried teaching some coworkers mtg with these packs at an offsite, and had to continually reassure them that actual games with self built decks are more fun than this.

its funny because its more like the decks we built in 1994 from starter packs and booster packs.

Gonna disagree. Admittedly slow is relative, but fast magic is bleh. Battlecruiser commander with friends is peak MTG.

I remember MTG 3rd edition cards like "Bird of Paradise" and "Will-o-Wisp" were hot rare cards everyone wanted because of their abilities. Now they are probably scrub cards that aren't even used. I haven't played in a long time. Was really fun though. I still have all my cards. I wonder if they have aged well.
