My game pass expires on 2/28. I already have the 3 year gold card and one month GP ultimate so I can ready to do the conversion…
My question is… should I get this for 3 months and then do the convert trick in a few months …Or just do convert at end of month and get the 2 years GPU. Thoughts?

If you have the gold codes already, I would suggest using those asap.
Successfully bought and redeemed 4 of these earlier this AM. $110.76 for 12 mos, or $9.23 per month.
Imagine there may be options that cost less out-of-pocket, but was simply aiming to extend an existing account, due to expire tomorrow, while eliminating potential time-suck finagling.
Did so at a price point less than the "Core" option, should I have gone through MS directly.
Keep in mind this is for "Ultimate", and MS has "Core", "Console" and "PC" all available with different features. Seems to me MS is firmly nudging users to Ultimate (e.g., "Core" has online multiplayer but limits GamePass games to 30 or so/"Console" includes all GamePass games but doesn't afford online multiplayer) but enshittification (thanks C. Doctorow) is in full force, right?
Hmm. Thumbs down for my reply. Guess it is better not to contribute any comments/feedback. In my mind this states everything worked seamlessly and I appreciate the OP efforts.
Pretty crazy additions to Game Pass for 2024 in the first few months:
AC Valhalla
RE 2 Remake
RE 3 Remake
Palworld
Persona 3 Reload
Madden 24
MLB The Show
Tales of Arise
Diablo 4
I can't imagine they announced another big game tomorrow, but who knows... It's a good time to sign up.

So, I'm on the PC, what am I missing here? This is $9.23/mo for something that costs $9.99/mo? I get a little lost because it seems like MS has 10 different gaming subscriptions.

Agreed – which is why I searched for and then posted a link to IGN which details the different options, in 2024 current terms.
Click through that link and it will all become clear.
Our household has 3 people who do some online multiplayer via Series X, and 1 who also does some PC-based gaming.
For us it made sense, or as much sense as it makes in 2024 with the accelerating trend toward businesses jacking rates to the moon as a SOP.

Game Pass on PC is generally cheaper since you don't get the other bonuses. Ultimate includes Xbox online multiplayer access, Ultimate Perks, access to EA Play titles (works on PC too) and access to their Cloud streaming if I remember correctly.

Make sure you change the location to USA, mine defaulted to WW (worldwide) and was showing a higher price.
