Trying to figure out why $1.53 off a $6.53 air compressor hose is on the front page

Interesting device. I usually just leave the valve open so any moisture drains on the floor (on a paper towel if needed). But with this I can make it drain on the floor a little bit further away.

Allows you to drain into a small bucket. Can be useful for shops where the compressor runs all day and builds up a decent amount of water

I can recommend this. I have a craftsman air compressor and when i first put this on and drained it all kinds of rust came out. now i open it after each use to keep it clean. don't need that thing blowing up.

I have it on my big air compressor. Makes it easily accessible to release air. I duct tape it underneath, so it doesn't wiggle like crazy.

You haven't been draining your compressor all along? If that much rust came out you've already got a problem.

My SIL has a compressor like me and he made his own and gave one to me. Its just a right angle pipe fitting with about 6" of 1/4" pipe and a simple shut off valve. This extends even with the tank, easy to drain tank etc. Since it is solid piping, it will not flop around etc. when you purge water etc out of tank. Thinking about putting a whistle on the end just to annoy neighbors :o)

Shees! This thing is $25.99 at Home Depot (Husky branded though). They even use the same pic:

Unless yours is super hard to get to (mine isn't), then there isn't a need for this. But good to know.

Have this, keeps me from scraping up my hand getting at that valve under the compressor.
While on the topic, can recommend adding a muffler as well.
Can't find the one I have anymore, but here's an example:

Making the valve easy access and cutting the noise down took away enough of the pain that I drain my tank every evening... not just here and there.

At first I was wondering why your sister-in-law preferred the he/his pronoun. That maybe it was something about the non-binary or trans community that I didn't understand. Then I realized, oh maybe you meant son-in-law; that makes much more sense...still not certain though.
