Purchased this last time there was a front page deal around $200 USD. Sounds quality is good. Fills the room with full sounds. Surround is produced well, while verticality is "there" but don't expect it to perform like a system with dedicated upward facing speakers. Subwoofer puts out some solid base and we have it turned down a little lower than half. Only issue I've had with it is that sometimes it seems to lose connection to sub/surround. Seems like audio continues through the sound bar but sound will cut out for a few seconds on other channels. Happens rarely so not that big of a deal for me, but figured I'd mention it.
IIRC the last time this was posted there were quite a few people that didn't care for it. I personally love Vizio sound bars and have three of them, but they're all very old at this point. A 2.0 channel from probably around 2010, a 2013 42" 5.1 channel that won't die, and a 2014 36" 5.1 channel that also won't die even though the optical port crapped out. They just keep working so I don't replace them. So my personal experience is great. A lot of people will discourage them, though, as they've had poor personal experiences. It's very possible the newer ones have reliability issues. Like I said I can only tell you what I've personally seen. I would not hesitate to buy a Vizio 5.1.2 channel sound bar but I just can't justify it when I have working units.
Seems like a decent deal. Would be a good system for a small room or bedroom. Might be lacking a little oomph for a large living room. Will still be better than stock TV speakers or a single soundbar without a sub and satellites

Rtings review seems good.

How do they compare to similar products from named bramd entry level models? Like samsung/vizio/sony?

Wait, are the Monoprice soundbars made by Vizio?

Looks like they don't report codec support much, basically seems like it can do Dolby digital, Dolby Atmos (unclear if this is just Dolby digital plus with Atmos or also Dolby truehd with Atmos) and linear PCM. No support for any DTS codecs is a downer for sure.

No, not to my knowledge anyway. I was just giving a personal testimony to how good Vizio (often cited as the budget sound bar brand) has fared over the years. I've had really good luck with them thankfully and it's built up enough goodwill for me that I'd not hesitate at all to upgrade if/when one of them dies.

To be fair, I'm sure this sound bar is perfectly fine for the price of entry. I'd have to go back and review the last thread on this to see what people said. It seems like there were issues with it. Though I could be thinking of the dirt cheap Wal-Mart Hisense 5.1.2.sound bar from around Christmas time.

Second this. Even the low cost Vizio setups have way better bass than anything in the price range.
