Great family tent. I've had it for 3 years and it has kept us dry in some heavy downpours. The closet is dumb but the tent is well constructed and holds up to my 4 kids trying to break it and everything else I own.

My friend who was brand new to camping got this tent last year per my suggestion and it was truly a quick pitch, good quality tent, color was bright & vibrant that we were able to locate it from far and beyond...it does comes with a closet to kind of store your stuff like bags and packs but it was confusing (at least initially) while pitching the tent as none of my other tents had that feature.
When it comes to tents, reduce 2 persons from the capacity when figuring out how many people may fit; so this one can fit 5-6 people pretty well. I personally take 50% off the capacity if I want to sleep comfortably with camping-cots and stuff etc.

From the looks of the pictures the closet doesn't have a mesh ceiling
so go easy on The Blazing Saddle Beans around the campfire.

Been camping for decades, the last several, "car-camping", not backpacking and we own a variety of Coleman tents.

Key pluses of this tent:
- Vertical walls mean that 9 foot dimension provides good usable interior space vs. sloped walls of dome-style tents.
- Vertical walls also make it less leak-prone, assuming you take care of that fly and regularly apply NikWax waterproofing.
- Coleman patented pole-stretched door works like a regular hinged door rather than hanging loose in the opening - big convenience plus. You don't even have to zip it 100% of the time.
- Decent amount of windows provides good ventilation vs other tents.
- Until you've camped in a vertical/cabin style tent of any size, you don't know what you've been missing, comfortwise, vs dome tents. Particularly as you age.

Downsides:
- Fiberglass poles are a weak point. We have a steel pole similar style version that has lasted 12 years of regular use each summer. Yes it is heavy, but well worth it.
- Vertical walls make it less wind-resistant. This is not a heavy-duty tent, so smart to pitch it in wind-sheltered spots.

If we didn't already have plenty of tents, would seriously consider this tent at this price… but those fiberglass poles….

Decent quality, as long as you're not the one to be sleeping in the closet.

I've pitched some big tents in my day, but this one is pretty roomy too.

Great tent for car camping. I got it like 6 years ago. Was 75 for in-store pickup. Easy to put up.

How sure are you? Have you actually set it up? Those horizontal roof poles + reviews indicate fiberglass poles in the roof structure.

The only fiberglass poles on our older Coleman cabin-style tent are in the door and awning structure.

I have this tent. All of the poles for the roof are fiberglass, as well as for the door. The poles for the roof have held up, but the smaller fiber glass pole that goes around the door snapped after our last camping trip.

The poles for the frame are metal.

Help! Trying to decide between the Lake Cabin and the Montana. Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm new to camping and searching for a durable investment. I'm wondering if Coleman is superior to the Ozark Trail brand. While browsing Walmart.com, I noticed that Ozark Trail has higher ratings. Can you offer any suggestions?

I have the Montana and it not super easy to set up. Decent tent, but from the feedback I have seen Lake Cabin would be a better option.

Thank you! My only hang up now is the bad reviews on the Lake Cabin door.

Do you have a link to a steel pole version ?
