fwiw if you get the install great but dont expect it to go thru, this is a scam. i purchased 4 tires and had them sent to my local firestone, cost at the time was an additional 50 bucks. when i went to get them installed they refused and said they dont do that, and ebay just randomly sends them tires they have nothing to do with the company sending them. they gave me my tires which i took and paid to get put on elsewhere. then i went to ebay to get my 50 bucks refunded to which the seller required pictures and other non existent proof for authorize a return. eventually got ebay to refund but was a huge hassle and cost me more in the long run.
But you get free tire rotation and tire warranty from Costco.
The biggest issue is that some of the tire sellers on ebay will either sell you old stock of tires or sell you tires that they claim are new which are really not.

Very good deal for anyone looking for the most savings ( vs free rotations and that stuff )
If price is the only factor this will be hard to beat.

My 2000 Tacoma still has the original tires going strong.
Seems like a worthwhile thing to push the limits on.

Free installation without free rotation is fairly worthless since many places throw in lifetime rotations with installation fess. Pay $0 install and $80-100 lifetime rotations or $80-100 for install + lifetime rotations, the total out of pocket cost is the same. Rotations over the lifetime of the tire is the major cost incurred and that is the cost you want to be minimizing.
Everyone should really be doing their own tire rotations.

America's Tires will do rotations and tire patches for free even if you didn't buy the tires from them

Thanks. Prices I see are about the same as Costco but this may save me from the horrors of Costco tire install wait times which people seem to complain about.
That's why you set up an appointment beforehand. I never have to wait too long with a previous appt.

I can definitely recommend using this service from eBay. Scored a pair of 4 tires and got them installed last year for an amazing deal.

You would want to purchase from a reputable seller of course. ( discount tire sells on ebay almost aways cheaper than in store for example ) but choosing a seller on ebay does require extra effort. but so does any ebay purchase.
I have noticed a few sellers are now making statements like ( build date within the last 12 or 24 months or new stock only ) Hope this trend continues. But your rando local small mechanic is more likely to sell you out of date tires.

Some places do free tire rotations regardless of whether you bought them there or somewhere else. American Tire Depot near me does free rotations and flat repair for anyone. Of course they'll probably try and upsell a service while you're there. I just got a quality pair of Laufenn (Hankook brand) tires installed for $450. Solid deal.

Yes, because everyone is able-bodied, has the strength and has a garage. Applause

I just did research on a bunch. I went with Laufenn X Fit HT's, but others I considered were Summit Trail Climber HT II, Thunderer Ranger 007, LionHart Lionclaw HT, and BlackHawk Hiscend-h HT01.

They all seemed pretty good, but Laufenn is a Hankook sub-brand. Tire Rack has a short review on them on YouTube if you want to check it out and decide if they are what you need.

I can assure you they are anything but strong at this point. For your own safety, change them.

S fit or x fit matter?

I didn't look at the S Fit, but a quick search tells me they are more performance oriented, for sports cars and sedans, and the X is more for SUVs.

I did this same offer last summer and it worked out well. I had a PepBoys install, and they said the install package comes with lifetime rotation and balance. I was impressed with the manager and service of the PepBoys I used, but YMMV on that. The tires I received were newly manufactured, lower cost lesser-name brand, and are doing their job just fine.

The biggest complaint I have is that the list of installers available through Caradvise is outdated. My list includes a NTB that is closed. It also does not include a 2 year old PepBoys that is just down the street from me. I tried really hard, back and forth with customer service many times, to get the closer PepBoys added, to no avail. The just kept saying to have the tires shipped to my home address and then take them to the shop -- but there's no way to redeem the promotion if I did that, and they couldn't comprehend.

So be very careful who you select for your installer and make sure they are open, the address is correct, etc.
