Dang. Just bought this for $350 3 weeks ago. Doubt I am within the window for the price adjustment if it does ring up for $315 at the store.
Great saw, used it often already for some flooring and trim work. Also upgraded it to the shadow line light kit found on the 780 for ~$70 bucks. Works fantastic and saves multiple cuts and time.

Arguably the question you should ask yourself is, do I need this much saw. It's a great value even though it used to regularly be cheaper (250-300 bucks on sale, doesn't get that low anymore really). Biggest con is the massive clearance behind the saw required due to the slider. It also may take away some degree of accuracy, but obviously you gain the flexibility to cut much larger pieces compared to a standard miter saw. Also every feature you add of that nature is another point for "slop" in your work but most people seem to think it's not enough to matter to all but the most fussy user.

FWIW also it comes up a lot that these have changed/been decontent-ed. The biggest differences are they added handles, which is nice, but removed the slide "lock lever" in favor of just the set screw to hold it and they removed the 22.5 and 45 degree bevel stop blocks. If you're doing volume work with those bevel angles the 780 probably still has them and may still be worth the huge price increase, otherwise I wouldn't worry about them.

They have multiple "types" under the same model - so the cost reduced ones (more plastic, missing features) may be the "type" included with saw/stand combo. It's part of the reason I don't like dewalt.

I just sold this saw and bought the delta cruzer - the dewalt required too much space in the back for the slide and it was often coming up short on my cuts, so the extra but of capacity advertised on the delta is worth it for me and the space savings were needed. All I've done with the delta so far is set it up on a stand.

Buy another one and walk back in to Returns and return it with the old receipt.

I've been told home depot price adjustment is 30 days. They told me it needs to be at the original store.

Maybe call to confirm

this is true. this is their policy. HOWEVER, some customer service people don't know or don't give a shit about that policy. i bought a dewalt 30* framing nailer kit from one store for $450. took it to a store where it was on clearance for $112. first time i was rejected. came back a second time and they did it.

You have 90 days to return so just take your receipt into the store and ask them to refund it and then rebuy it.

Am I missing the price?
I have had this saw for a few years. I even bought and installed the upgraded light kit which turns the kerf from the blade into a cut line. Very nice and powerful saw.
Lowes uncommonly has this on sale AND sometimes it will include the free stand. I would wait for that.

Generally Dewalt discontinues them when they change type, this saw has had 4 revisions, the 3rd (type 22) was where it was de-contented and the 4th (type 30) I assume was the same model but with the recall fix. I don't think there's been a 20 or 21 sold in some time but if you happen to find them those are the "old" revisions that don't have the handles but do have the other stuff. From everything I've seen aside from the bevel angle stops there weren't any significant decreases in quality that I would be concerned with.

Just saw one at this price in Cincinnati. Measured the clearance needed for the back side of this though and jeez! 23" give or take. And then I would need room for my dust collection hose. I'm gonna have to stick to me 10yr old non sliding one.
