FYI this takes a CR2450 battery. There are other AAA versions if you'd prefer.

Luckily, nobody is forcing you to buy one. Smilie
People put them in the cabinet where they store their camera gear to make sure their gear won't get ruined by mold. They put them in their humidor to make sure their cigars won't dry out. They put them in their glasshouses. They put them in their terrarium to make sure their emotional support lizard won't catch a cold. Sometimes these are sold by the dozen, and people buy them by the dozen...

Despite the literature lacking info, it's been confirmed here many times that it's integrated with Google Home. I am using it myself.

Thanks, got 2 for $17. Will try with the several goveelife heaters we got recently.
That's what exactly I ended up doing serendipitously. I had bought the hygrometers/thermometers previously. I ended also buying the space heater. I just happen to find out that they can be linked so the smart space heater can turn off after reaching a set temperature. Note: I've come to find that you need to see the "desired" temperature to be about 3 degrees Fahrenheit lower since the system likes to have a buffer range of those 3 degrees.

Why do I want this?
They work great with their heaters, which are also great. You can have the heater go on off based on temperature on the other side of a room, etc. There's a Govee heater on SD now for $25

I use these in my RV and they're great for monitoring different areas of my rig. I just ordered two and it gave me $5 off each one. Pretty good, thanks OP!

For those who would rather have LCD with AAA batteries, here's a link to a 3-pack for $27.99. If you use the $5 new customer coupon, comes out to $7.76 per unit.

Got two of those. Button battery needs to be replaced every two months. I just tossed them in the trash after replacing the battery three times in less than a 9 months time frame.

Thanks! Just got this. I bought the two pack over the holidays for $17 and returned it. I didn't realize the Govee space heater (which has been awesome), needs these to cycle off. I woke up in a 99* room many mornings. 🥵

FYI: Amazon reviewer said it works with the H5151 Gateway. It is part of the Govee WiFi Hygrometer Thermometer set.

I would be VERY cautious about these Govee mini devices that use the 2450 coin batteries. I have DOZENS of the larger model for my cigars and tried about 6 of these mini ones. The battery wouldn't last a month. I've retired all the mini ones and replaced them with the larger model that used AAA batteries.

People here have mentioned they have lots of these already, but this is a NEW VERSION, so not sure how they have so much experience with them. The old LCD model is 5101 and this e-ink display version is 5105.

I am very skeptical of "12 months battery" claim. What really sucks the life out of the battery is the app polling the device to download it's data. The more you do that, the faster your battery is going to die. Those 2450 coin batteries just do not last. I bought a sheet of those 2450's and went through the whole sheet in less than a year.

The larger model that uses 2xAAA batteries last forever (well, at least 1 year), depending how much you poll the device.

So buyer beware on this tiny model -- have a bunch of 2450 coin batteries on hand or just try not to use the app often.
I bought a sheet of the cheap EmazingLights 2450 batteries, and some supposedly better ones from Celewell. I tracked how long they ran in my SmartThings Multipurpose Sensors and found the Emazing ones lasted about 1 month and the Celewell ones lasted 2-3 months. Panasonic 2450 batteries consistently last 9-10 months. That's with data from 20+ sensors over multiple years.

The Emazing ones were garbage, and I can't believe they're still selling them on Amazon.

The Celewell one were better, but still not good. For long-term cost, they end up being almost a wash vs the Panasonic ones, BUT you're replacing batteries 3-4X as often AND generating more e-waste.

I just buy the Panasonic ones now.

The coupon stacks, I just picked up 4 for $20 off! I use these in my garage for monitoring air temp in different parts to make sure I don't have any hotspots, I also use these in each of the kid bedrooms to check per room temp and automate the AC vents opening and closing / thermostat accordingly. I think I now have close to 20 of these and have them integrated with Home Assistant.
I wonder if i can make my minisplit read temp from this instead of its own sensor which is off by like 6f.

Here is a comparison I did before with the older govee e-ink thermometer vs the LCD based goveee I replaced it with. Maybe other LCDs are better, but the e-ink is just so much easier to see, especially further back (not counting screen size)

Thanks, this makes a bit of sense, just still wondering what you can do about it once you know? I dunno. I'm weird logical brain and need to see things through.
I have a wine fridge with a glass door that the built-in temperature display is not working. So I use these in each zone (I can see them without opening fridge door) to confirm the temperature is right or make adjustments as needed. Very useful for me
