How long can you wait before activating the sim while still getting the 6mo promo plan? Have to wait a few more months before my current plan ends.

Don't touch this company. It's garbage. Internet never work. Regret regrets. Read the tread b4 u buy
I knew someone on this network, they started getting scam calls from "Lyca", relentlessly to buy more credit. This company is dodgy so get at your own risk!

Just purchased, and my credit card sent me text for the amount charged. But the website is stuck and not getting any confirmation email that purchase was successful. This looks fishy so far.

They are bad in certain areas. Plus at times they are shady and won't send the activation pin itself… in starting. And that sends the person in an endless conversation with customer care!!!
EXACTLY what happened to a family member of mine a few months ago. had to call every day for weeks. i STILL didn't get an activation pin, yet they were holding my ported number for ransom!

if anyone else is in this scenario and desperately needs their number back from Lyca, ask them for a refund of the plan you bought, and try to find a retailer near you who sells a cheap plan. buy the plan from them using your ported number, it should activate in an hour or so, then you can port out.

i have heard porting out is also a nightmare with Lyca, but i thankfully did not run into any issues getting the account number and pin.

so, definitely stay clear of Lyca Mobile. terrible customer service who tells you that there is some backend team that needs to manually generate a pin, but somehow it takes weeks for them to do that. and when they do, the pin doesn't even work!

Worst experience I've ever had with a carrier. Horrible, if non existent customer service. Agent was rude and inexperienced! I'm surprised they are still in business!

I've used to use Lyca overseas as a cheap local number, but Lyca US is a trash. it was the only time I had to do a chargeback because I was unable to activate faulty SIM card. Support does not exist (ok, you can call, wait and talk to a person like 9-5pm weekdays but they cannot help with anything). Even Boost I personally hate is billion times better

Oh, so Lyca is even worse.... inability to disable auto-renewal perfectly matches lack of support... Big Grin

What?

I have always been able to disable it.

Sorry for the double negative.

This is FUD.

I use these guys often. Their support is bad, but I've never not been able to disable auto-renewal, though you do have to leave it on until your final month for it to renew properly.

I actually ported out today because my 6-month promo was expiring tonight - jumped to Infimobile's 6-mo offer - I got my transfer PIN and account number via chat, and the port completed in minutes.
Just activated over the weekend, and then turned off auto-renew. I noticed they were only showing payment of $20, not the $60 I paid when I ordered. So I have to re-enable auto-renew for them to take the subsequent payments out? And then disable once they take the final payment in the final month? Just want 6 months for a burner phone and then be done with it.

That's correct.

Auto-renew must stay on for your multi-month plan to auto renew.

After enabling auto-renew, remove your credit card. You should be able to.

Does anyone know if there is cancellation fee if I decide not to continue beyond 6 month time frame? I really don't want the number after 6months. Just need it for my friend who is here temporarily in US.
