FYI their new ultra power stations are not backwards compatible with this smart home panel (they need the new shp2)

SHP 1 and 2 apparently have a lot of issues. I was close to buying a SHP 2 system a few weeks ago until I saw all the major issues that people were having with their systems.

Yep. I would run as fast as I could from this deal. The SP1 is notorious for all kinds of issues, just going Eco SP1 issues for a list…

Some folks literally have to replace their whole panel after paying for the install. I'd be pissed if that was me.

Just want to temper people's expectations on these things before they jump in: this 3.6 kwh battery will only power your house for a few hours (accounting for efficiency losses and assuming 500 watts of critical loads). You'll also most likely need a licensed electrician to install the panel. So this will get more expensive than the original buy in price. And even more expensive if you want expansion batteries. For most people, the value proposition isn't worth it until these units are cheaper and/or homes are already wired up to accept them.

The battery isn't huge, kind of surprising anyone would bother going to the expense of wiring this in. You could just run an extension cord or two to a few necessary items from a back up. That's the way I did from mine in the past. It's not like you're going to be running large appliances from it for any length of time. About the largest single item I ran from mine was a 75 watt fan overnight due to it being summer at the time.

You can get the Delta Pro EV recharge bundle for $2399 at Costco, which includes the remote panel and j1772 charging adapter.

The same bundle with a 400w foldable panel is $2899

It is NOT a reason to buy this —however it may be relevant to your decision to know —that since this is over 3KW it should qualify for a tax credit assuming it can use solar panels to charge it. This is a 30% CREDIT — not just a deduction —so it is the same as the government paying 30% of your cost (as long as you owe at least that much in tax).

Good deal considering what I paid in Dec 23 from Amazon (full factory list). I had an electrician set up a spare dryer circuit to back feed the main with an interlock plate so the 30 amp dryer circuit can only be turned on when the main is off. Wrote off 30% of the delta pro and the electrical work. Good if you don't have any 220 volts appliances. This plus an inverter generator makes it so I could go for a week of lights, furnace, internet, refrigerator on 5 gallons of gas. Might add a grand worth (1000 watts) of Renogy panels on the roof using cables and weights to hold them down so as to avoid having to permanent attachment. Might be able (even with my lousy exposure) to run all summer long disconnected from PG&E.
