You will be charged $150 today and on the backend a credit for that amount will be placed on your SIM.

When you activate, the SIM uses its $150 credit to purchase 1 year of service at the discounted rate of $150.

If you fail to activate in the time frame, which is anywhere from 3-6 months, they will charge you full price (an additional $150) and add it to the SIM cards balance for when/if you ever activate it.

No matter what, you are purchasing 1 year of service and the SIM card they send will forever have 1 year of prepaid service sitting on it. Whether you activate in 1 day or 3 years it will still work, the only difference is whether you pay $150 or $300 for that SIM.

I ported out a few weeks back. It took about 2 hours. I had to call in and get the account and pin first. It took a few redirects and waits, and attempts by them to get me to stay. But this took about 30-45 mins. Then I had to call again as during thr port out process, they don't automatically approve it. It again took a few redirects and waiting and upsell and finally was able to port out.

Boost Mobile customer service is the worst. The first 2 layers of customer service cannot speak freely or answer your questions. They are only allowed to respond with a few scripted sentences. Keep asking for a manager or supervisor and pray you don't disconnect during the 45 minute wait.

Wasted so much time and energy when I bit on a Slick Deal last year and they overcharged me $180 which took 10+ calls and 2 months to get back (They initially issued it as credit to my account and I had to fight even more to get it back to my card)

For what it's worth: I've had boost for two years. No real issues to speak of. I've been happy with their service. The one time I had to call customer service it was atrocious. No help at all. I've joked that I feel like a beta tester for their service. The app is glitcy and never shows my data usage, it says I'm on a monthly plan even though I'm on an annual plan. That said, I'm cheap so I live with it. I'm on AT&T's network. Just signed up my wife a couple of months ago (finally convinced her to leave her legacy $80 a month Verizon plan). They sent her a tmobile sim. She says the service is fine. Reception and data speeds will be highly location dependent. We're in the suburbs of Denver. Just ran a speed test on our phones a few days ago. I was getting 40mbps, she was getting 30.
If you're looking for the lowest cost option and are willing to watch an ad every day on their app to earn coins, boost can't be beat. I had enough coin credits to bring my annual renewal down to about $40 for the year.
Hope that helps someone that's on the fence.

From the wiki-
"Q: Can I get a new number now and then port in a different number sometime in the future after evaluating the service?
A: No."
Why is this the case? The other mnvo's I know let you do port in a number later to replace the new number.

Any trick to ensure at&t service? I'm not interested in T-Mobile at all.
Customer service said that i should take the sim card i received and go to boost store and tell them you need ATT service then they will change simcard and activate your service on ATT. I can tell you after my experience as I have the same issue.

I'm signed up for their unlimited $25.00 per month plan when you port in a number... Debating if I should get this. I like boost because as most know you can earn credit each month to pay towards the bill. Anyone on the monthly switching to the $150.00 plan?

Is there free international voice and text roaming via WiFi Calling on Boost Mobile? I.e. can you make calls / send text messages to US numbers and receive calls / text messages from US numbers free of charge while in the UK / in the EU / in other countries and on WiFi, NOT on a cell network? Or does Boost charge you roaming fees for receiving calls / text messages from US numbers and for making calls / sending text messages to US numbers via WiFi calling from abroad?

Can you add a phone once you've bought this plan? E.g. I see the Galaxy A25 5G at $99.99.
Do these phones come unlocked / can you unlock them after a certain time period?

After 1 year if you renew, then this plan will be $300 per year.
So are you saying that you can get $260 worth of Boostcoins in 12 months to bring down to $40 for the year?

If the phone is on a special you will need a plan to get the special pricing. Boots unlocks only after 12 months of continuous service.
