You will be charged $150 today and on the backend a credit for that amount will be placed on your SIM.

When you activate, the SIM uses its $150 credit to purchase 1 year of service at the discounted rate of $150.

If you fail to activate in the time frame, which is anywhere from 3-6 months, they will charge you full price (an additional $150) and add it to the SIM cards balance for when/if you ever activate it.

No matter what, you are purchasing 1 year of service and the SIM card they send will forever have 1 year of prepaid service sitting on it. Whether you activate in 1 day or 3 years it will still work, the only difference is whether you pay $150 or $300 for that SIM.

I ported out a few weeks back. It took about 2 hours. I had to call in and get the account and pin first. It took a few redirects and waits, and attempts by them to get me to stay. But this took about 30-45 mins. Then I had to call again as during thr port out process, they don't automatically approve it. It again took a few redirects and waiting and upsell and finally was able to port out.

Boost Mobile customer service is the worst. The first 2 layers of customer service cannot speak freely or answer your questions. They are only allowed to respond with a few scripted sentences. Keep asking for a manager or supervisor and pray you don't disconnect during the 45 minute wait.

Wasted so much time and energy when I bit on a Slick Deal last year and they overcharged me $180 which took 10+ calls and 2 months to get back (They initially issued it as credit to my account and I had to fight even more to get it back to my card)

To be clear, one's never been able to switch once activated without some rep going really going out of their way to help.

Generally speaking, one needs to activate on the preferred network at the onset by using a Boost SIM of the network one prefers.

Maybe the rep confused the latter for the former.
I have not activated my SIM card yet. I had contacted them to send me ATT sim so I can activate it on there. I did realize that there is higher chance of success to have it activated on preferred network from get go. However it seems with this highly discounted plan it's impossible unless they send you att sim by default (may be if the address is not in tmobile coverage area). So far I have not seen anybody getting it done successfully. I will stay with tmobile. The price is good after cashback I paid only 125 for this for 12 months

When you go to activate the new plan, enter the ATT Sim number. No one has done it yet with this plan so no one knows if this will work. Good luck.

Lots of folks have done it in past Boost deals, but I suppose there is a possibility this deal can be different.

Well worth it. I'm getting 400, 500 and 600mb constantly. I'm glad I didn't jump on the US mobile deal.

Boost rep implies that activating a Boost Mobile SIM obtained from a Boost Mobile dealer is possible, if the SIM they shipped you has not already been activated: https://www.reddit.com/r/BoostMob...aYkxGD1Kyt

Can you clarify "ATT simcard"? Do you mean an "AT&T brand simcard from AT&T store" or do you mean a "Boost Mobile AT&T simcard from Boost store"?

It's an Boost Mobile Card that is on AT&T network, or the so called black SIM card.

From the linked discussion just posted above your post, the Boost reps is saying an At&t activation (if you were sent a T-Mobile sim) must be done in-store. All other methods such as doing it yourself, calling/chatting with a Boost rep will all fail.

Since At&t activation worked for you, am I correct to assume that was done inside a Boost store, or did you find some other way to accomplish this task?
