Canon has multiple refurbished cameras and lenses on a deeper discount than normal. The R6 Mark II refurb is going for $1799.99 and lenses like the RF 35mm f/1.8 for $299 (normally $399 refurb or $499 new) Black Friday pricing for the refurb RF 35mm f/1.8 was $250 so this isn't far off.
Promotion is ending on February 29, 2024. Refurb stock does not stay long according to the canon rep I called today.
Call the Canon Upgrade program number (1-866-443-8002) to receive an extra discount if you qualify for it using an older canon camera and/or lens. I received an extra 10% off the refurb price ordering the 35mm after calling and using my kit lens serial number for the program.

EDIT: tried to call Canon to get upgrade discount. They have to make the new order and cancel the old one. Got 10% discount using my old 5D Mark II serial number
BTW, the 5D II is still a good camera to this day.
Yes, you have to use a serial number from a lens you currently own though to get a discount on a lens you're buying. I used an old kit lens I had from 2011 and they gave me an extra 10% off the discounted price for the refurb RF lens I bought.
You just have to give them the serial number and a reason why you're using that camera for the program. I told them my old camera was water damaged, they didn't ask for me to send in the old camera and they gave me 20% off a new R8.
Doesn't hurt to try, there is a couple of forums where people have used powershots for the program and it worked. Just ask the rep if it qualifies for the camera you're looking to buy.

I saw the sale start but have not seen the RF 35 f1.8 in stock. Was in in stock at this price? That's the one I'm waiting for although the RF 16 f2.8 at $199 is attractive. Wish it had IS though like the 24.
It was in stock when I ordered originally on Friday morning, but the rep told me stock was getting really low already at that point - it's one of their most popular RF lenses.
Keep an eye out, sometimes they will restock in the middle of the week, hope you're able to get one! Canonpricewatch is also a great resource for getting emails for when sales like these go live and for tracking prices with other resellers, it's how I found out about this current refurb deal originally.
Only reason I mentioned asking is because they will also ask for the exact model camera or lens you're looking at using for the program unfortunately. I had to provide the exact model name and serial when purchasing my camera body and lens.
Nope! Got to keep the camera body and lens, they still function perfectly. Planning on keeping it as a backup.
