Firmware S0614B0. Seems to be a DRAM-less SMI controller and some Biwin labeled NANDs, whos the OEM for these HP drives. CrystalDiskMark benchmarks 2097/1601 MB/s R/W, which matches specifications of 2100 MB/s read and 1500 MB/s write. Nothing blazing/Mid-performance for Gen3, but just needed a boot SSD as an older HP S700 500GB SATA SSD is starting to fail, very slow reads and checksum errors.
The 1TB version rang up at $59.99. I'll wait for it to drop to <$30. Pics/receipt below...
