I searched history and couldn't find any for $99. Bj's had it for as low as $129.99 but only slect store location.

Unrelated to the comments saying it's been cheaper, this is currently the cheapest I'm seeing. Having said that, is it worth it? Maybe the "ultimate" for the smoker option?

I know, but for some one like me who does not have any BJs store around. This is as low as I can find it. Totally understand that this is not the lowest price out there.

Bought this at BJ's last year for $99 as a cheap way to learn charcoal grilling. Is it a good grill? Yes and no.

Tldr; If you want it for fast(er) cooks (350f+), it's great. Gets really hot fast. Great for burgers, steak, or anything that needs a nice sear. Did cedar plank salmon today and turned it out fine. It's also portable so works well if you want to take it camping or to a beach/park.

If you want it for slow cooks, then no.

I've smoked pork belly, shoulder and tomahawk on the grill, but they are all forgiving meats. It's very difficult to maintain temp ~225-250. The lid has a vent for air flow control but the bottom does not like Weber or other kettle grills. I'm new to smoking so could be my lack of experience.

Only good for hot grilling like burgers, hot dogs and steaks. This is not for anything that requires a cook time greater than 10 minutes. It's really good for steak as it gets nice and hot. But for that you can just grill on a chimney starter.

Solo fire pits/stoves are awesome and are expensive for a good reason. This BBQ is not awesome or worth 50 bucks.
