Not discounting anyone else's experiences, but I'll add my own data points: In the last 10 years or so, I've had plenty of leaky batteries, all of them being Duracell or Kirkland brand (also Duracell clones).
In 2019, bought rayovac 60 packs of aa and AAA and in 2021, bought another 60 pack of AA.
I've used these batteries over the last 5 years and haven't had a single leak from any of them.
So for at least the rayovac batteries I bought in 2019 and 2021, no leaking issues for me.
I believe, 2019 is the year the parent company of Energizer took over the rayovac brand.
I wonder if the people here who experienced rayovacs leaking, bought them more recently than 2021. It's possible due to cost cutting that the more recently made rayovacs are prone to leaks.
You know you can do curbside pickup, right? I rarely go inside Lowe's anymore — only if I need to return something.
I second this!!!!!!! I bought 2 packs of these, AAA and AA. Both leaked in my devices. I cannot stress enough how bad it ruined so many devices once I finally noticed. Be very cautious.
My last in-store pickup took an hour. Do you really think curbside pickup is going to be a better experience?
Never had that experience -- where are you located? Around here (we have 20 Lowe's stores within about a 40-mile radius), it never takes them more than about 5 mins to come out to the car (and I visit Lowe's all the time to get clearance deals).

I'm in a small town without an HD to provide much incentive.
I am storing all used batteries and once a while drop them of to home depot. But I am from EU and we are use to recycle.
But I thought Home Depot only accepts rechargeables? I think it states right at the drop off area.
I just feels very wrong to toss them straight in trash, that's all.
