Have to disagree somewhat.
I used them in one specific toilet and they do work. You just need to scratch the surface of them once in a while.
I just take a toothpick and basically create 3 thin furrows every week to expose fresh material.
They have a tendency to dry a bit then they don't work as well.
Not sure why you were downvoted. They did nothing. I even added 6 of them at one point and it didn't so much as turn the water blue.

Great idea. Everyone wants to use a toothpick in their toilet every week.
It isn't recommended you use any of the toilet tablets that contain bleach in your toilet tank because it can damage internal parts, in particular the flapper and flush and fill valve. I would think that bromine could be damaging as well. If some don't mind replacing those parts more often then, those products would work fine.
I ordered the 6 pack over a year ago and Amazon sent me 6, 6 packs. They didn't want them back so I am using them up.
They work just fine for me.
I do toss the toothpicks...
