Rarely knock golf deals, but this is not great at all. Srixon always has huge sales and they're pretty predictable - right before summer, father's day and/or early fall. The sales vary, but Z-Stars can be had for ~$20 - $23 and Q-Stars for $15 - $18 a dozen. I'd wait to stock up then. Academy, Dick's and Amazon all participate at various levels. Local pro shops even participate.

I love Srixon golf balls, but always get the recycled ones. Just can't stomach the price of new, knowing it's getting lost in the woods or going in a pond.

I have to agree, this price is high compared to previous Srixon golf ball deals. I paid $76 in June for 3 dozen of their newest z-star xv golf balls. In this "deal" I would spend $150 for four dozen. 1 extra dozen, but for almost $75 more. I am willing to pay in the $25 range per dozen. $37.50 is beyond the value for me.

yes and thank goodness for these sales where golfers stock up on way too many balls. I walk my dog through paths in the woods that border a golf course part of the way and I collect 4 to 6 good quality balls a day during golfing season (including Titleist Pro and Taylor Made). I think when golfers have that many balls they are less likely to even try to recover a ball once they see it go over a few trees. A lot of these "lost balls" are just lying in plain sight on the path.

I usually go through 2-3 balls per round if I don't lose any. I tend to really scuff the ball with my wedges, not to mention bunker shots, which will eventually affect the aerodynamics on longer shots. I use brand new balls for my weekend league where money is involved. Then the scuffed ones get used for my Thursday night beer league and/or Saturday night couples league.

Lots of weekend golfers (who have no business playing ProV's or TP5's) severely overestimate where their errant ball ended up. They're looking probably 260-270 yards off the tee when they should be looking 220-230.

If I hit a brand new Z-Star into the woods, you better believe I'm spending my 2 minutes to find it, no matter how good of a deal I got. I use my golf GPS app to give me yardage from the tee box, and I know my swing well enough to get a good estimate how far I hit it.
