I had vesperia on switch but bought all the rest...except the tales of arise expansion bc I figure by the time I start it, there may be cheaper deal on the expansion. Big mistake or not? I'm new to bandai namco on cdkeys/steam

I have not heard a single good thing about the Arise DLC so I'd say it's safe to skip

All of these are great games. If you are only going to pick up a few, I would suggest Arise, Berseria, and Vesperia. You can probably skip Zestiria. They all have really good combat and interesting stories that aren't too heavy (except for Berseria, it gets a little dark).
Each of them kind of starts slow, but they all have great characters and stories. My wife makes fun of me for how Anime they are and how cheesy the stories are, but I think they are great JRPG comfort food.
Me too. Arise is quite repetitive so I haven't played it in a short while now. Symphonia is a great game.
Symphonia is a great game maybe my favorite of all the tales. i got most of them on steam already but wish i had gotten them at this price. although Arise is free on xbox game pass. I wanted to buy arise when it first came out but heard nothing good about it. but playing it on game pass and enjoying it very much. although for free i might not be as picky lol
For someone coming into this series who knows nothing about it, which one should I start with of the above?
Also are they are turn based RPGs?
Playing on a steam deck if that matters.

It's not shooter/competitive online games, which seems to be all most people care about these days lol
I bought all of them except Arise since I already have that for PS5.
