Over-ear, open-back, high-impedance headphones; designed for a flat frequency response and natural soundstage. In case you have never heard the term "soundstage"- it is a way to describe how wide and/or "deep" the presentation of sound is. Professional and Hi-Fi audio systems can produce extremely real "soundstaging", and having access to that is essential for mastering, mixing and tracking. AKG says these are "pure perfection for precision, listening, mixing and mastering".

I'm big in the mid-fi range and own 8 headphone sets from the anandas to 660 to Argons. These are still some of my favorites. They feel sort of cheap and flimsy, but man is that soundstage enormous. A GREAT entry into mid-fi that you won't regret I swear.

I love mine as well. A reminder for those not familiar with open headphones, everyone will be able to hear your music

Do you have any experience with the HIFIMAN Edition XS headphones as well? If so how do they compare?

The 700 series are big headphones. You will look like Princess Leia while wearing this.

These are open-back, which means most people would be wearing them when they are alone. So only an issue for people who look in a mirror while listening to music.

How do these stack up against the Sundaras? I have a pair of Sundaras and HD600 that I love. Wondering if these are worth grabbing or just sticking to what I already have.

Any experience with Grados? I have a beaten-up pair of SR80i that I've been looking to replace. I absolutely love them but have been looking to try similar cans from other brands if the price is right.
