Yes. I have these, DT900 Pro X's, and DT 990 Pro's. As far as immersiveness goes, these are the best. They are super wide and sound amazing but they do lack bass if you like bass. They also aren't the most comfortable but I can wear them for a couple hours with no issue. Comfort goes to DT 990 pro then DT 900 for earpad bliss. The DT 900 pro X are also better all arounders, but they are over $100 more. Also my biggest issue with the K702's is sound leakage. They leak about as an equal volume of sound going in your ears as they do out. Probably the most leakage out of any open back headphones honestly.

Very nice cans, IMHO in the same league as the Sennheiser 600s. The retail price is a little delusionary, but for under $150 these are very nice.

yeah - these are great for under $150. great for detailed mixing in a home studio - very non-fatiguing imo.

These are well known for having a wide soundstage that are good for gaming.

With that said, I would maybe see if new offerings are considered better in 2024. This is a model that's been around for a while. I own a pair of the K7XX and never really loved them.

Would this plug into a ps5 controller without needing an amplifier or DAC?

They get moderately loud off a normal source like that, but it doesn't drive them very well, so I'd plan on an amp eventually.

If you are going to buy a few open back headphones in this price range, then I highly recommend them as they are so different than Sennheiser 6XX or the Hifiman HE400se. They are exceptionally good for acoustic stuff.

If you just plan on a single pair, I'd get the Hifiman HE400se. They have better bass the AKG 702, and they have a better soundstage than the 6XX. They are also the least expensive of those three.

The Sundara is unmatched at its price for technical ability but these might be a bit better for competitive gaming. AKG headphones are generally good but also very cheaply made. Hifiman is known for QC issues though so build quality is a wash between them. Which tonality you prefer more is user preference.

I have owned my K712 Pro for about 7 years with daily use and no issues.

In your opinion, would you say there's no need for these if you already have DT 900 Pro X's?
