Well Dang it .. why am I addicted to scoring deals. I'll create a Wiki on Cort Guitars but in a nutshell they build the higher end stuff for Fender, Charvel, Jackson, Ibanez .. etc. They are the Foxconn of iPhones. This is their top tier stuff. There are cheaper models as well but looks like Brett (info AT ploutone) has been a regular for some of us Guitar Addicts.

Just got the duality from Brett. Addicts please feel free to chime in on this store and deal.

Heck I should become a dealer and buy all my own stock. Imagine the margin the big brands have on they same guitars but branded.

For players who are more keen on presenting themselves with a gothic, dark presence, this stunning guitar is also equipped with matching colored EMG® RetroActive Super77 humbuckers. The neck boasts a sleek design with 24 frets, a super-flat radius, and a smooth finish on the hard Canadian Maple neck, known for its excellent stability. The fingerboard, made of Pau Ferro wood, features raindrop inlays that enhance the guitar's warm, woody appearance. Overall, it's a smooth-playing instrument with a distinctive aesthetic.
The beloved KX500MS is back with modern updates and a new name, the KX507. This seven-string beast is now equipped with the multi-voiced Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers, enabling the KX507 Multi Scale to explore further into limitless possibilities in the tonal spectrum. The KX507 Multi Scale also features 25.5" – 27" multi-scale frets with the neutral fret now on the 8th position for better playability, a mesmerizing Poplar Burl top on Mahogany body, 5-piece Maple and Purpleheart neck, Macassar Ebony fretboard and an updated volume and tone knob position for easier reach.
This and the 290 are called Fatties and they are amazing for the value they bring to the table. All rounder and NOT FOR SHREDDING SmilieThe new G280 Select is a revamped follow up of the previously popular G280DX, with newly added pearloid pickguard, Rosewood fingerboard, and Voiced Tone VTH-77 hot humbucker and VTS63 single coils to cover a massive range of modern and classic tones. Designed with the best possible playability and sonic qualities in mind, the G280 Select combines fantastic looking materials and top notch hardware to deliver the performance and versatility demanded by modern musicians.

6str electric Cort G290 FAT II - $799 $599 [ploutone.com]- The best Fatty bar none.
One of the most acclaimed and sought-after guitars that Cort offers, the award-winning G290 FAT receives a handful of upgrades including the long-awaited roasted Maple neck and fretboard, an additional color option, black TUSQ nut and luminlay side dots. The key features that originally made G290 FAT popular remains unchanged however, including articulate and full sounding Voiced Tone VTH77 pickup set paired with a highly versatile custom pickup wiring system, Ergo-V neck and compound fretboard radius for enhanced playability, and superb build quality. G290 FAT II is the result of Cort's dedication to making a great guitar even greater.

6str Electric Cort KX500EBK - $919 $599 [ploutone.com]- I'm thinking Dang Shredders
The KX500EBK is a guitar for modern players who seek top-tier aesthetics, materials, and hardware in a guitar that can cover multiple genres, from djent metal to modern to prog rock. The sandblasted Ash Burl top looks stunning and is also quite a rare spec, especially among guitars within this price range. Equipped w/ Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers wired to a push/pull tone and volume, the KX500 offers a diverse range of sounds to cover all of your favorite genres. A beautiful 5-piece Maple and Purpleheart neck offers timeless aesthetics and excellent stability.

Jewel in their crown. Many of us addicts have this one and its a nutty instrument as it belongs on Stage but is owned mostly by the bedroom pentatonic scalers.
For guitarists who want the biggest bang for their buck, and a pro-level instrument that won't break the bank, the Duality X700 is one of the best options on the market. Top tier specs like Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic Humbuckers, locking tuners, 3-piece Maple and Panga Panga neck, 5-way switching, and a 15.75" radius Ebony fretboard makes this versatile superstrat a popular choice among professional and bedroom guitarists alike.

No comments on these. Not a bassist but these look fantastic
A great bass has just the right blend of timeless design and modernized features. The GB Modern bass is developed for the J-Bass enthusiasts with a surprisingly lightweight design for greater comfort and enhanced playability while reducing fatigue. Also featured are top tier visual and spec enhancements such as roasted Maple neck and fretboard, Hipshot® Ultralite Tuners and Babicz® FCH4 Bridge to reduce the weight even further, and an ultimate tone combination of Nordstrand® Big Single Pickup Set paired with MarkBass® MB Instrument Pre preamp system.

So for the folks that don't know about Cort .. I'll cut to the chase .. All big brands for the most part get their higher end imports - Like Jackson, Charvel Pros from Korea - Cort is the company that makes them. They used to make em all but now they only make the highest import lines for these brands. This idea was created in Japan by the Fuji Gen Factory which now makes the Ibanez Prestiges - The Fender Japan Custom Shop and some other lines and Jackson PRO MIJ and on and on.

Both these businesses got the idea that why let the middleman make money when we could give better quality to the end customer. It's a stupid trap because in the end they become just like their customers but in that honeymoon period when they are changing the world they make their best products. Happened with FujiGen in the 70s and 80s. Cort is having that moment right now so get one and hold on to it.

BTW brett shows around here from time to time. Username: ploutone
. Bug him since he has made the mistake of being on here Smilie

Maybe it's just me but all these Cort guitars have the ugliest wood grain designs. Looks like they're milled at a lumber yard or something. Like wood faux wall paneling in a double wide trailer. Blech.

What's this about having no tax? On their site they say:
Quote :
Import Taxes and Duties
Ploutone is an international online store that sells high-quality instruments and accessories. We ship our products to many countries around the world, but we are not involved in the customs clearance process of each destination. Therefore, we are not responsible for any import duties, taxes, or tariffs that may be applied to your order by your local authorities. These charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer and must be paid upon delivery of the goods. Please note that these fees are not included in the shipping costs that we charge at checkout.

We advise you to contact your country's customs office before placing an order with us, to find out what kind of taxes and duties you may have to pay, and how much they will cost. Some countries have specific regulations and restrictions for importing musical instruments, so it is important to be aware of them and comply with them. Ploutone is not liable for any delays, confiscations, or fines that may occur due to non-compliance with local tax laws.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. We are always happy to assist you and provide you with the best possible service.
You gonna get hit with a big fee as you accept the delivery?

I tried calling the number on the website to find out it's a Google voice number. I asked if these are located in the USA via text message and he said yes and these guitars are new, not b stock or anything. so I pulled the trigger. If I must pay additional fees, I won't accept the delivery.

Which one did you get? I've ordered here before and it's legit. You won't have any issues.

I got me that black & gold kx300. I was only able to find a used one on reverb for $250 plus shipping all beat up, so figured might as well get a new one. I'm not aware of any other guitars with active emg pups for that price. There was no sales tax for me

So there are are a few to name stores that don't charge Sales Tax because they are in Oregon etc. www.pitbullaudio.com [pitbullaudio.com] is a big name that doesnt charge sales tax either. They are also not very flexible in their pricing either. The smaller players almost always never charge sales tax unless they live in a Sales Tax state. Its too much hassle for them to separate the in/out state. Hope this helps.

DEFINITELY an addict Smilie why buy one when you can buy two Wink I could never get myself to buy two of the same even with color difference. Now if you bought it to resell then it makes more sense to me.
