Upon expiration of initial 90-days of service, your payment method will be charged for additional 90-day service periods at the price of $60. Offer includes the following available discounts: 6 months of service for $90 or 12 months of service for $120.

That's from the Terms and Conditions. Still not horrible, but far from very good

YMMV- It is very difficult to get the account number and PIN to port out from Lyca.

No, that's only if you have auto renew on.

You're free to disable it after your second month.

I use these guys all the time, and months ago I did have to call to get my account number and port out PIN because their chat system would disconnect but, even then, they always gave me the details.

Recently, I've just chatted with them for the information - as recently as last week, in fact.

you can cancel the auto renew right away on the website, app or phone and they text you a few days before the billing period you prepaid for ends. How is this bad? I would rather it be on by default over losing my phone number. I have been on mint for years and never had any shady practices with billing.

Because I want to renew month to month instead of prepaying in a minimum 3 month allotment like what most prepaid MVNOs used to be about

Yes, they used to have 45 days time. Not sure if it changed.
