I think this is a great deal on a great mower. I bought this last year when it was $699, and I didn't get the extra battery. I opened a Lowe's account to get an extra $100 off when I bought mine, which they're doing right now through 3/6 (20% off, up to $100).

Really the battery costs these days. If you take the battery out of the equation, the 10AH battery included is $500 MSRP.

MSRP the mower is $850-500 = $350.

The 5AH free battery you get with this deal is $300 MSRP.

Since the mower + 10AH is $750 (using that $350 for the mower cost).. you're paying $400 for the 10AH battery + 5AH battery which are normally $800 MSRP together.

It's 50% off batteries and they're throwing in a free mower. haha

If you think this sale price is good, you should see what batteries cost outside the eco ecosystem.

Ego charges out the ass for their battery packs.

I do agree the batteries are expensive. What are some other brands of tools that has affordable batteries? The usual suspects I can think of are all overpriced just like Ego.Frown

I've been rocking my push-version Ego for 8 years. No issues. I have no reason to upgrade. I have no reason to upgrade. I have no reason to upgrade...right?

The price of these batteries.... ugh. It would take me many, many summer to spend $300 on gasoline for cutting my yard. This just seems a bit ridiculous.

I placed an order. I tried to cancel the battery but it wouldn't let me as it gave an error. I talked to a CS rep and they cancelled it for me. I've been eyeing one of these for a while. Thanks OP.
I just tried too. CS phone rep could not cancel it either. He said I could return it though when I get it so that could be an option.

Is it ending up charging you for the battery?

I don't know how they did it but I show only the mower/10ah battery coming and was only charged the ~$550 + tax.

I kept going back and forth and there is no question for the average person a gas mower will always come out ahead financially especially over the long run. But you know what? I am looking forward to not messing with oil and gas etc. With the 5 year warranty I feel a bit better with my choice. Happy mowing.

I'm in the same boat, although my battery is getting a bit wonky. I do think the new mowers are probably much better with thicker/heavier grass and/or mulching. I have thick bluegrass and mulch so I think it'd be worth it for me to upgrade at some point.

Same. I also need to cut grass when my little kids are asleep. So this would be ideal for 8:30pm mowing.

Is this EGO's most powerful mower? I have the older model single blade mower and it is a little weak for my Bermuda lawn but still gets the job done ok.
Yes, well they have a 22 inch aluminum deck with a different self propelled system and their Zero Turn mowers, but I have this exact model from Lowe's with a 10aH battery and it has plenty of power to cut my 1/2 acre lot. If the grass is wet and thick it will decrease the battery life and so will the "high lift" blade but it gives the best cut. The mulching blade leaves stripes and the speed control dial is not well designed but besides that I have 2 full seasons with it and no issues. It has more torque than the Toro it replaced and saves me 20 minutes in cut time also zero maintenance.

Anyone use one of these 7.5 ah batts with the leaf blower? Wondering what kind of runtime you get.

My 25 year old gas pushmower might be on its last leg, but I just use it to get tight spots the rider can't get into easily. So I'd really be more interested in a big battery for blowing leaves in the fall.
The battery will last longer than your biceps unless your name is Arnold.

Here are all the items that come with a free battery:

Bought a 80v Kobalt last year with 2 batteries self propelled for $299.

This is a ripoff.

I'll just say that I like mine. Bought in 2020. It was on sale for this price (minus a 10% coupon from eBay) and then a local $300 rebate for disposal of a gas mower.

The biggest thing I like is that my wife actually REALLY likes it - to the point that she has kinda of refused to let me mow the lawn since we got it. I've maybe used it 5 or 6 times since I got it.

I have an Ego mower from years ago and love it. I was really confused with this price though. It needs to be updated that it comes with TWO batteries. That's a huge difference.

I'm also interested in an aftermarket battery if anyone has any suggestions. I only really need it during the fall for leave-blowing. Thanks!
