You're right, I didn't see the model # change, updated my previous comments!

Looks like the 10AH one is the 'XP' version with more torque & a longer battery warranty.

Differences between Mower LM2135SP and Mower LM2156SP:
Runtime:

LM2135SP: Up to 60 minutes
LM2156SP: Up to 75 minutes
Battery:

LM2135SP: 56V 7.5Ah ARC Lithium™
LM2156SP: 56V 10.0Ah ARC Lithium™
Cutting torque:

LM2156SP: 8.3 ft-lbs
Battery Warranty:

LM2135SP: 3-year
LM2156SP: 5-year with registration

I think this is a great deal on a great mower. I bought this last year when it was $699, and I didn't get the extra battery. I opened a Lowe's account to get an extra $100 off when I bought mine, which they're doing right now through 3/6 (20% off, up to $100).

FWIW the sale is also available on Amazon.

Both Lowe's & Amazon also has a similar model but with a 7.5AH battery + the free 5AH battery for $599 -

Can anyone confirm if you can return the bundled battery?

I would highly recommended AGAINST the 2156SP and instead get the 2135SP, mainly because of the "touch drive" system. It was pretty bad and poorly received so EGO ditched that system in their 2024 lineup.

Yes, you get a 7.5AH battery instead of the 10AH battery but you also pay $150 less for a better mower.

2135sp also has touch drive. Care to elaborate why touch drive is bad?

I have their batteries for like 8 years now, no issues whatsoever.
Can you comment on how to store the battery? Do you fully charge it, use it until it dies, and charge again? Do you always keep it on the charger?

The thing that concerns me the most is battery availability in 7-8+ years. That's probably why I'll go with Ryobi. Cheaper buy-in price. Cheaper batteries. Off-brand batteries readily available on Amazon.

Greenworks seems to change battery systems every year (24v vs 40v vs 60v vs 80v)...and who knows where Ego will be 10 years.
Both Ego and Greenworks have a healthy off brand battery supply on Amazon. I have some of them. Of course they don't match Ego's quality but how many knock offs do for any name brand

Both have the Touch Drive system so if you are trying to avoid that then you will be out of luck. From my understanding, it was the Speed IQ function that many people disliked and if you look at the newest models Speed IQ is nowhere to be found but Touch Drive is still around.

Aside from that, I think having a 5-year battery warranty vs 3 years alone is worth it to get the 2156 over the 2135.

Happy mowing!

I think you're confusing Speed IQ (2167SP) and Touch Drive (2156SP / 2135SP)

Ahh, yes you are right. 2156 is also "button" based. Then it's fine.

That Speed IQ system was wonky and that's why it got ditched.

Good gas lawn mowers also cost upwards of around this much at the very least
Yep, A good Toro or Honda will set you back $750 easy.
Their top of the line residential push mowers exceed $1,200.
Commercial ones even more.
Some people just like to whine because of their McDonald's wages

I have two 5 aH and one 4 aH.
One is always on the fast charger, one in the blower and one on a shelf sitting fully charged.
No issues over the two years I've had their batteries.

Anyone can give my any recommendations on which one should I get?
The EGO $600 one or EGO $750 one, i have a 0.1 acre yard.

The $750 one have better torque and 10AH battery instead of 7.5 AH.
And the battery has 5 year warranty instead of 3Ah.

Both 10Ah and 7.5 Ah are enough for my home.
I am not sure if it worth $150 to upgrade the warranty from 3yr to 5yrs.

Thanks!

Same question, but on Lowes specifically. I see that some were saying they could on Amazon.

I had the original 21" self propelled for 7 years now and mower & batteries still going strong. I retired last year and my wife surprised me with a John Deere riding mower/tractor. Wish I worked one more year because I see Ego just released a new 42" tractor style mower.

So I pulled the trigger on Amazon. Second battery is invoiced separate with a total of $211.20. Mower is invoiced @ $599.72. Should be able to return battery separately for the full credit of $211.20. Leaving the mower @ $599.72 OTD.....
Except Amazon is starting to get wise to some of these "hacks" and adjusting the prices accordingly (or not at all). Please report back to let us know if this works.

I doubt you'll be able to do it at Lowe's. They've been cracking down on bundled item return hacks. They'll look up the receipt if you don't have it. If they can't find it, the return will require manager approval. At which point you're probably looking at store credit, not actually getting your money back.

It's easier at Amazon, but even they've been starting to adjust things so bundled items can't be returned even if they are invoiced separately.
